Ego gives them pointers and insights on what it means to be best of the best players in Soccer. Sometimes berates them harshly went giving players advice about unlocking their potential. I am not here to talk about season 1, check it out on your own. Fast forward to 2024, went season two finishes airing I wanted to talk about it. Season two, Rin Itoshi was major character in the show and learn more about him. Rin finds his own pain of becoming the world’s best soccer player in all Japan. Isagi takes a backseat in this season. Rin has an older brother named Sae Itoshi, who is a Soccer genius and an ace striker. He is very envious of his brother Sae Soccer skills. Rin’s backstory is that they had a strong relationship with his brother Sae but slowly was stranded. After Sae went overseas, he started to hate Rin due to Soccer skills. In present, Blue Lock select top 6 players to be captain for training problem. Rin was one of the team captains along with Shido Ryusei. Shido Ryusei is a brash player who looks down on everyone.  After training match, Shido Ryusei get kicked out after fighting Rin and moves to U-20 Japan. I have to saw U20 match was explosive even the crowd and communtators was on the edge of my seat.

Sae is also in U-20 Japan along with Oliver Aiku, a team captain of the group. Reo uses copying technique, Shido unlocks his flow and Chigiri Hyoma break his leg.  In the match, between Blue Lock and U-20 Japan was very intense, which got the crowd on their feet. Isagi scores the final goal and in an interview, he wants to be a leader of Blue Lock. In my opnion, I didn’t see any issues with this season other than characters scoring goals in the series. As far, Blue Lock always have a good animation studio Studio Eight Bit, which is like 8-bit gaming in some way. I didn’t see any quality drop at all but remains stable and keep viewers eyes peeled.

Thoughts on Blue Lock Season Two

Season two of Blue Lock got me the edge of my seat. I would say this is one of the best seasons I ever watched. Shido is the most violent player in the series. I really dig the animation making the player’s eye glow and aura. Eight Bit studio did amazing job with animating Blue Lock. This is one of the best sports animes I have watched. It’s really up there with Kuroko No Basket, Hajime No Ippo and etc. This anime reminds me of WWE Tough Enough, which is very similar to Blue Lock. Season 2 is not a sildeshow of players powering up for a speculator move and getting into the zone. The season is complete but more will come as manga is ongoing right now.

Season two has 14 episodes while last one has 24.  The anime series got some funny moments like Chigiri being called missy because it looks like a girl. Isagi relationship with Rin and Barou Shouei who got a yellow card for talking his shirt off. Season two just got real with Meguru dribbling skills and Nagi Seishiro back foot pass. Each episode makes me want more and want to see what happens next. During the finale, Isagi wants to be number one soccer player but he has to overcome ostacles in his pain. Blue Lock season two isn’t that bad at all and way better than season 1. Season 2 has ended and I am hopefully will see a new season coming years or so.

U-20 Japan vs Blue Lock IX story arc was my favorite in the series. I know manga is still on-going and won’t get season three until it finishes. Really recommended watching this series, if you are newcomer to Blue Lock. I haven’t seen “Episode Nagi” film yet because it’s based off spin-off manga featuring Seishiro Nagi. There are some stage plays as well, and video game based called Blue Lock: Blaze Battle and a collaboration with Konami’s e-Football 2024. Blue Lock can be available to buy on Amazon. You can also watch Blue Lock season two on Crunchyroll as well.
