Konami Style Beat’Em Up

There is a lot of Konami beat’em up games that you use 90s cartoon properties like X-Men the Arcade, The Simpsons and TMNT Turtles in Time. I have personally played all three games and enjoy the heck out of them. 1990s Konami was the golden age of beat’em up games, but that flame gone down. I am loving the attract mode, voice acting and option of 1-6 players on the same screen. Well, fast forward to today, TMNT Shredder Revenge, Power Rangers Rita Rewind and G.I. Joe Wraith of Cobra has that same style in the 90s. Even, X-Men 97 episode 4 Motendo makes a reference to Konami’s X-Men arcade game. In this article, I will be listing properties that should have a beat’em up Konami style game. Let’s right to the list with Thundercats.
Thundercats

Thundercats is on the top of this list. There is a side scroller video game from Amstrad CPC developed by Elite Systems. I wanted a beat’em up game with the Thundercats because it fits. There should be playable characters Lionio, Panthro, Cheetara, Tygra and Wily twins. In my opinion, it should be 1-7 players with super moves. Along with fighting bosses like Mummra, The Mutants and Ratar-O. They should have upgrades, interact with npcs like Ro-Bear Berbils and many others. I would want to see some one makes this game. Hopefully Tribute Games and Dotemu would get the rights to this from Warner Bros.
He-Man
He-Man is a no-brainer because why no one ever made a beat’em up game for this. We already have a 2026 Masters of the Universe movie in the works. The game should be 1-6 with playable characters like Prince Adam, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Man-E-Faces and more. Orko would be a support character or go icon. Surely, Skeletor and his minions are bosses in the game. Same as Thundercats, talk to npcs and skill upgrades. I am surprised that no one though of this. Also, we She-Ra in the game as well. I would love to see a dlc of She-Ra fighting Hordak.
Street Sharks

Street Sharks has been looked down for years but now Mattel brought back the figures in 2024. This show rivals Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the 80s. This show came out in 1994 and remember watching it. I have already known it’s going to four players because of major characters. You can play as four brothers Big Slammu, Ripster, Streex and Jab. The four will face off Dr. Paradigm and many other bosses. I want to see a DLC with Dino Vengers fighting alongside them against The Raptors. I know Mattel has the rights to them and a company can collab with them.
Big Hero 6
I am surprised that Big Hero Six didn’t get a beat’em up game. Haven’t watch the series and it wasn’t good at all. Movie was not bad, but I am not here to talk about the film. Big Hero 6 is based on Marvel Comics, and I hope one character would appear in Rivals. It should be 6 players and playable characters to choose from. Such as Baymax, Hiro, Go Go, Fred, Wasabi and Honey Lemon. They can fight off villain bosses along the way. We had to have upgrades and many more. I think it’s a great edition to Konami style beat’em up.
Closing
Right now, that’s all I can think of. But I got some mention like A-Team, Gen-13 and Vox Machina should be on the list. I am hopefully, they might surprise me in the near future. Forgot to mention that Toxic Crusaders had a Konami style beat’em up. I got to play the demo and also watch the tv show not movie. Anyways, that’s basely what my choice is. Let me know in the comments below on what series that you can a Konami Style beat’em up. Thank you for reading this blogpost and tune into the next one.
