What is Beyblade Fierce Battle Movie?
Beyblade Fierce Battle movie is based off Takara Tomy spinning top toy line with the same name. The movie was released August 17, 2002, the storyline takes place between Beyblade V-Force and G-Revolution tv shows. Fierce Battle plot is about Tyson (Takao Kinomiya) who wins a Beyblade tournament, meanwhile Professor Tengai takes children on a field trip at Demonhead Mountain. During the field trip, Tengai discovers ruins of dark bit beast that was sealed 1,000 years ago. During Beyblade World Championships, Tyson won the match, and a new challenger interrupts the tournament named Daichi Sumeragi. Dachi challenges Tyson to a match but he refuses to participate. Angerly, Daichi provokes Tyson into a match, and he agrees to battle. During the battle, Daichi releases a energy of Strata Dragoon which awakens dark Bit Beasts in the ruins.
The spirits of dark Bit Beasts possess four kids Ashley (Ayaka), Daniel (Shinogu), Henry (Hiroshi) and Steven (Satoru). These kids are now called Shadow Beybladers and their goals is to possess the power of Strata Dragoon to gain their true form. Tyson, Max, Kenny, Hilary and Ray are on vacation after Beyblade World Championships. Daichi comes along with pesters Tyson to battle him. Finally, had enough of Daichi, Tyson battles him on Miss Kincaid (Keiko-sensei)’s boat. During the battle, Shadow Beybladers arrive and take Daichi hostage. Tyson, Max, Ray and Kenny go to DemonHead Island to rescue Daichi from Shadow Bladers. Tyson battle one of the Dark Bladers and gets Dragoon put into ruins. Also, Shadow Bladers possess Daichi as well and ruin started to collapse.
Battle of Two Dragoons
Tyson is trapped in ruins, but Dragoon told him not to give up. Meanwhile, there was a lot of natural disasters currenting in Japan because Shadow Bladers. Kai battles one of Shadow Bladers and gets outnumbered. Soon other Beybladers come to Kai’s aid and gets overwhelmed by Dark Bladers. Beybladers find out about Shadow Bladers who similar sacred Bit Beast to Dragooon, Dranzer, Draciel and Drigger. Tyson manages to free Daichi from Shadow Bladers control and defeat them. All of the school kids turn back to normal and Tyson trolls Daichi into swimming. That’s how the film ends, in my opinion. Watching Beyblade Fierce Battle felt so nostalgic to me because I have watched it on Jetix early Saturday or Sunday morning. I love how character designs have changed from original Beyblade (2001) show to V-Force.
As for English dub, I didn’t find anything wrong with it but notice characters name change from original Japanese counterpart. This was way before 4Kids Entertainment ever did but soundtrack was a flash to the past. Personally, I have found that Daichi is the most annoying character in the movie. Even, he has a terrible backstory about his father, but Daichi reminds me of Scrappy Doo. I love how Tyson is trolling him, especially during Japanese Festival scene. Anyways, animation changes making it more vibrant thanks to Nippon who did Hunter X Hunter, Chibi Maurko-chan and many more. Beyblade The movie length is 70 minutes which is sightly lower than 1 hour mark. Beyblade Fierce Battle is probably cannon and introduce Daichi before G-Revolution.
Thoughts on Beyblade Fierce Battle
I am guessing you have to watch Beyblade Fierce Battle first than watch G-Revolution. Personally, I haven’t watched the show in years, but Dachi is introduce in episode 1 “New Kid in Town” in Beyblade G-Revolution. So, Beyblade the Movie gives a little lore about Daichi but feel free to check it out anyway. Overall, the film is not different than any other anime adaptation to a movie. It’s what you think it is, people battle with spinning tops and very dark as well. There is some sense of humor between Daichi and Tyson which reminds me of brothers for some reason. I don’t talk about box office as much, but it made $3.2 million and ranked 68 highest grossing film that year. Where to watch you might ask, there is a full movie on YouTube, but I rather buy It on DVD or VHS on Amazon.
Anyways, I had tried Beyblade for the first time at Plus Ultra Entertainment’s Hunter X Hunter Greed Island’s AwesomeCon 2024 Afterparty. It was a learning curve but still fun regardless of that. I remember buying PS1 Beyblade game along with V-Force Game Boy Advance title. Every morning went the show goes on, I always sing the theme song “Let’s Beyblade! Let It rip!”. Along with Metabots and Digimon Tamers, ahh thinking about those take me back. I won’t say this a full-length movie but direct-to-video but Bit Beast were CGI than 2D in the movie. Another character I didn’t like before I end this blogpost is Hilary (Hiromi Tachibana). She serves no purpose on the team than being a groupie. Even Kenny (Kyoujyu) was more useful than Hilary sorry that’s my opinion.

If you are a Beyblade fan, I would give this a matinee. I am aware of other Beyblade series like Metal Fusion and Burst along latest one X.
