What is Go Go Loser Ranger?
Go Go Loser Ranger is based on the manga by Negi Haurba and serialized in February 2, 2021. The plot is about a Footsolider called “D” plot to defeat a group of warriors named “Dragon Keepers”. Dragon Keepers faces off against villainous organization in a event called “Sunday Showdown” televised and stage play in Japan. The Keepers defeat monsters and get publicity at the same time. They also use Divine Artifacts to defeat the villain army every Sunday and other days. Footsoldiers are tired of Dragon Keepers defeating them over and over again. One day, D infiltrates Dragon Keepers and disguised as student Hibiki Sakurama. D’s main mission is to destroy Dragon Keepers and world domination. He also has allies like Yumeko Suzukiri, who is the last dragon priestess (season 2) and has a hidden motive.
Along with real Sakurama who goes into hiding and spies on Dragon Keepers. Dragon Keepers is look at as heroes but others not so much. The group is consisting of Red Keeper (Sosei Akabane), Blue Keeper (Shougi Aoshima), Yellow Keeper (Shinya Kiritani), Green Keeper (Chidori) and Pink Keeper (Sesera Sakurama). Each of these keepers has motives and Divine artifacts. Dragon Keepers have a battalion based on their colors as well. In the course of the series, D was supposed to be antagonist but it’s in reverse. Dragon Keepers are the bad guys and villains good. Footsolider D perception changes by helping monsters or Dragon Keepers. He has to keep his identity secret from other but Chidori and Hisui knows.
FootSolider D Conquest
During his time with Dragon Keepers, D makes friends and enemies along the way. In season two, D finds out boss monsters and Monster Protection Society that welcome footsoliders. He was excited to see someone like Yakushi Usukubo accepting monsters but wants to destroy humans as well. Angel Usukubo is his daughter and a vessel of Boss Monster. At the end, D, Angel and Hisui along with Dragon Keepers took down DeathMecia (Yakushi Usukubo). Even now, monsters and humans did work together on a comment cause. How will Sunday Showdown will continue to run? Monster Protection Society did expose Dragon Keepers as villains. Even Yellow Keeper shot one of his comrades in episode 8, defeating Juji Sazan.
Even Suzukiri discovered the copies of dragon priestesses and help D fighting off Dragon Keeper Green. D secretly fights boss monsters like Magatia and Peltrola. Even, he is on the same side as them. Sometimes D wants to be free from being villain and wants to stand out from the rest. In Super Sentai shows like Kamen Rider and Power Rangers, footsoliders always get defeated and underhanded. That’s went Go Go Loser Rangers comes in, the creator wants the reader to know what Footsoliders’ perspective. Red Keeper does remind me of Homelander from The Boys.
Is Go Go Loser Ranger Good or Bad?
Go Go Loser anime has 12 episodes each season. I am hoping for season 3 because manga is still on-going. Wondering what will happen in the end of the manga, will Footsoilder D rule the world alongside Angel. Will the Dragon Keepers be defeated? Go Go Loser Ranger is not a bad series but has some humor. I like anime opening and ending with D dancing. This show is not for kids, unlike live action Tokusatsu tv series. It does have blood and foul language in the series. If you’re a fan of sentai series, make sure to check it out. Sometimes you will be rooting for D because we didn’t know what he would do next. Yostar Pictures is involved in animation of the series.
I love how the show introduces characters and their names because I won’t remember most of them. D is a duster and has abilities like transformation along with regeneration, which he uses to deceive people. Footsolider D meets others like FootSolider XX who has the same abilities as him. There are colorless candidates as well that D meets during exams. Go Go Loser Rangers tackle issues like acceptance and betrayal as well. I am surprised Footsolider D was not destroyed sooner because of his willpower. Even second, he wants to destroy a Dragon Keeper sometimes he fails. Chidori and Shinya question him about his motives.
Closing
Go Go Loser Ranger series does also have mortality as well. D has a choice to destroy Dragon Keepers or become a symbol of peace. Even if D has a chance to defeat Dragon Keepers. Will he do it alone or have allies? I would recommended this show and love English Dub cast such as Zeno Robinson (Jabber from Gachikuta) along with other voice actors did amazing job.
