Nonprofit Organizations That Helps Content Creators
Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that helps content creators which allows them to keep copyright material to use for videos and more. That what YouTube has that setting went you upload content next to standard option. While there is one organization called Children’s Hospital that has a gaming program called “Extra Life”. Extra Life is a charitable program where streamers raise money to help children have a better tomorrow. This not only included streamers but content creators too, but you got to have decent following to do charity streams. Trust me, I tried and no luck because I didn’t have a following nor viewership in my stream. These nonprofit organizations do reach out to influencers and content creators to spread awareness. When I used to have a gaming blog back in 2018 and a non-profit organization reach out to me.

Manly, it was about growing trees, but I didn’t know what happen afterwards. Anyways, there are plenty of non-profit organizations for gamers like Gamers Outreach, Child’s Play (sorry not Chucky) and The AbleGamers Chairty. While there are some for non-gaming like Make-a-Wish Foundation, The Salvation Army and American Cancer Society. Whatever the cause you advocate with Save-A-Fox Rescue (RIP Mikayala Raines). There are more content creators that spread awareness like GoldBaller and BrotherDarkness, who advocate mental health along with disorders. Both are content creator/streamer that I follow, make sure to check out them out. There are platforms like GoFundMe (I will more about that in this post), Tiltify and many more that content creators can sign up for.
Asking for donations
There is nothing wrong asking for donations if it’s a good cause like your house getting burned down or funeral cost. Not if you have to go to anime convention or going on an all-expensive trip to Costa Rica. What about getting new streaming equipment and paying this month’s rent. Using donation for personal gain is not the way and paints you in a bad light. You will have to work for some of these things and your patriots are not here to be your parents. No one is going to take care or fund your lifestyle, you’re a grown adult using your brain. There is a term for that is e-begging which users ask for money without a good cause because they don’t want to work. Some people are very entitled and expect support in return because they produce free content.

Even if you post videos or stream on Twitch for free that doesn’t give you the right to bad mouth viewers into giving money. There are some entitled streamers that I won’t name but know who they’re. Anyways, if viewers or supporters want to donate to a creator, they must like your content and work. Whether you are an artist who does music, drawing and cosplay or what is the case. People will love your work regardless of your talent but there are some bad actors that abuse donations. If you’re an indie game developer, there is platform like Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Kickstarter is more popular for funding animation, comic books and many more. One animator reaches out to me on Instagram to help fund their project. I couldn’t sign in on Kickstarter and let that animator down.
Fundraiser and Support4Support
There is nothing wrong with starting a fundraising campaign for your followers. Don’t mislead them into funding yourself and talking their hard earn money. You post on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram about your charity event coming in few months or so for social media. Support4Support sometimes doesn’t work for streamers, that is why I want to bring this up. This method is so cringeworthy and bad way to network with content creators. No one is entitled to donate to you because that streamer was regular in your chat. People do feel entitled to support you than I expect something back. Content creator Turtlepizzapower explains this in his Tik Tok video. In my opinion, I don’t expect anybody to support me back nor come to my 1-2 viewer stream.

I will support smaller and larger creators because that’s who I am as a person. It’s optional to support me because I have compassion toward others due to work, school and family. Lurkers are welcome as always in my live streams because I care for them. It’s okay to support a streamer of your choice. If you enjoy their community and vibe with them, you also feel like you belong. Go for it, trust is a big thing between a content creator and viewer. Some non-profit organizations do help content creators in some way shape or form because they are building a relationship with you. There are some content creators who created non-profit organizations and hoping to start one someday. It’s a beautiful thing to help those in need and put a smile on their face.
Closing
My advice is to be careful about who you donate to and support. Some people can be greedy and don’t care for others. Someone needs that money to get back on their feet. Surviving nature disasters along with giving shelter to homelessness, that is what being a good Samaritan is about. We need kindness throughout the world because what is going on right now. You can choose any trustworthy non-profit organization to support or create one yourself for your cause. What are your thoughts on content creators and non-profit organizations? Let me know in the comments and thank you for reading this blogpost. Tune into the next one from yours truly.
