Daredevil Born Again Summary
Daredevil Born Again is based on Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Bill Everett. This show is a continuation of Netflix 2018 Daredevil tv show. Starting cast as Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Mat Mudock), Vincent D’Onofiro (Wilston Frisk/Kingpin), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page). Now Daredvil Born Again is apart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and apart of phase five. The plot of the show takes place after Echo and Daredevil (2018).
Matt Mudock, Karen Page and Foggy Nelson have some R&R at a local bar in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. An unknown assailant goes after Foggy’s client after receiving a phone call. This assailant was Benjamin “Dex” Pointdexter as he kills Foggy Nelson at the bar. Matt Murdock goes after Bullseye and drops him off the roof. He takes off his mask because of Foggy.
Meanwhile on the Subway, Hector Ayala saves a bystander from an attack and gets arrested by the police. Later on, Mutt Murdock visit Hector in prison and wants to represent him in court. Hector agrees and Murdock meets up with Wilson Frisk about giving up being vigilant. Wilson Fisk warms him that if he goes back to being Daredevil, it will be taken care of.
Kingpin is appointed Mayor of New York, while Matt Murdock seeks help from closes allies from police to others. Vanessa Frisk plots to against Wilson, in court Murdock defends Ayala and learns that he is White Tiger. Matt Murdock tracks down corrupt police officers realize they have a skull similar to The Punisher. Meanwhile Wilson and Vanessa are hiding their criminal activity in New York.

In court, a new witness recollects how Ayala does heroic deeds as White Tiger and is found not guilty of murder. Ayala’s niece Angela Del Toro believes police is involved in White Tiger’s death (foreshadowing actor’s death), Daniel Blake leak details about Frisk being a union buster. Frisk decided not to fire him. Murdock finds what happened to Ayala and finds bullet casing with a skull on them.
He confronts Frank Castle about misuse of the skull symbol, while The Punisher ask why didn’t kill Dex. In Saint Patrick’s Day, Matt Murdock discusses a loan for his law firm. He meets up with Kamala Khan’s father Yusuf Khan. Both Yusuf and Matt is held hostage by Devlin. Matt devises a plan to get the diamond with Detective Angie Kim. Devlin disguises himself as police but gets caught by Murdock.
After failing robbery, Frisk raises the debt to $2.8 million and gives Luca a week to pay it. A supervillain named Muse is on the attack learns human blood as art exabit. Fisk meets up with Jack Duquesne at a fundraiser. Later on, Kingpin established an Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) and recruits former law enforcement. Angela gets kidnapped by Muse and Matt Murdock rescue after realizing that he can do good.
Vanessa goes behind Fisk back and orders Luca to kill Fisk. But fails and Luca is killed by Cashman, Muse is in therapy realizing that Bastian Cooper helped him find his true self. Fisk kills imprisoned Adam after their battle, during Black & White Ball, Matt deduces Vanessa is behind everything. But Dex shoots Matt Mudock to save Wilson Fisk. Fisk cuts off the power and order Cashman to kill Daredevil.
Matt’s Mudock Mistake
Daredevil and The Punisher face off against AVTF. While Sheila River exposes Gallo and Fisk kills him. Kingpin makes announces martial law and imprisons Duquesne, Castle along with other people. Murdock needs an army to take down Fisk once and for all. Matt Murdock learns from his mistakes in season 1. He thought bringing people to justice is the right way. Matt doesn’t want to be like Frank Castle, even if he wants to be vigilant.
As Daredevil, you want to put life on the line. Matt is an attorney by day and hero at night. If he didn’t want to be a hero, then who would help the people. Sometimes heroes don’t need capes to help people but making choices can lead to mistakes. Look at White Tiger, during court scene, he stated that “it’s the right thing to do”. If there are no heroes, then a bad guy will win at the end of the day.
What if Matt didn’t want to become Daredevil anymore than that goes against his principles of law. Yes, he becomes a hero to protect the ones he cares about. Went he crosses a certain line then he has to choose between live or death. Everyone makes mistakes but we have to make amends for them. I have made a lot of mistakes in my life but slowly turning into a better person.
That’s what season 1 is all about, especially with Ayala but he was trying to save someone but got arrested for it. His mistake would have let him get beaten up by some corrupt cops. In season 2, Matt Murdock would have learnt from his mistake and brought Kingpin to justice.
