What wrong with anime games?
There was a video about “What is Wrong About Anime Arena” on YouTube that got me thinking about future of anime games. I made a similar video, but it didn’t do so well like others out there. I been playing anime games throughout my life. First was Dragon Ball Z Budokai on PS2 which I was a huge fan of series at the time. Afterwards was Naruto Ultimate Ninja series than One Piece and a lot of them in years. The question is that, are they better than a triple A title? No because they don’t invest million dollars into game development. Some of them try to be original but following the same format as other games. For example, the new Death Note Killer Within copied Among Us bit with different mechanics. I don’t see Death Note Killer Within being a successful than Among Us although its one of the popular manga out there.
Another is Virtua On inspired a lot of anime arena you see today like Jujustu Kaisen Cursed Clash and Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles along with Extreme Gundam VS Boost game. Don’t forgot about Musou like games which a lot of IPs uses that hack n slash format. What about battle royale genre? You got My Hero Academia Ultra Rumble which takes inspiration from Epic Games Fortnite and RumbleVerse. Personally, I was bad at that game but there are putting out content and still alive. I understand taking inspiration from other games and put your spin on it. But players will quickly realize that they will get bored quickly and lose interest. Myself, there is some anime I do get tired like those gacha games that are ported to console. For example, Bleach Brave Souls and Danmachi Battle Chronicle those games are money-hungry.

Even if you can grind for currency and other thing in those games. Sometimes they have those annoying notifications telling to buy more to summon more characters. Mihoyo games follow that as well but they’re very subtle about that. But anime games can be half-baked potato but not well done. Don’t’ get me started on those terrible reviews that video game critics has made for anime games. You see scores like 5 out 10 or lower than that (I am talking about you IGN or Kotaku). What about giving your own opinion about the game? That’s went YouTube comes in, large content creators get a code or copy of the game and review it for themselves. I know some small content creators are salty and upset about it. They are not going to give free copies to every content creator out there but who got the most audience or following. These companies looking for sales and use creators to encourage their followers to buy it.
I am not going to talk to much as this. Anyways, I know you have a favorite manga or anime franchise to see adapted into a video game. Ask yourself, is it worth getting or not? I know Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is hitting the waves right now and 90% player base is dropping. Some anime can be a hit or miss, I played Demon Slayer Sweep the Board (video below), which is a Mario Party ripoff. I can see a potential in that game, but player base was not there. Another Accel World Vs Sword Art Online which had some sound issues and complicate controls. I fought the game to be mid but had different types of characters in both franchises to level up.

I will buy more anime games soon because I am on a budget. Forgot about the anime-tie ins in mmorpgs, trading card and shooters games. If you want to buy anime games than I would wait until price drop for some. I have a channel you watch me play anime games as well. Thank you for reading my post and tell me what anime games you have played.
