What Peacemaker (2022 TV Show)?
Peacemaker (2022 TV show) is based on DC comics character based on the same name. The plot comes after The Suicide Squad (2021) and Chris Smith (Peacemaker) goes on missions and find out more about himself. First season, Chris was apart of “Project Butterfly”, mission which is run by A.U.G.U.S. A.R.G.U.S (short for Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Human) is a government organization that deals with meta human activities. Amanda Waller was head of A.U.G.U.S. but was killed in The Suicide Squad movie (2021). Rick Flag Sr is the new director of A.R.G.U.S. and has a vendetta against Chris Smith for killing his son Rick Flag Jr, during events of 2021 Suicide Squad movie. In season two of Peacemaker, Chris finds an alien portal in his dad’s home. Also, Chris finds alternate universe where is Keith and Auggie Smith alive.
Chris also find parallel world version of himself and later killed him. During his time in parallel world, Chris thinks he is a hero and felt acceptance. Later on goes to terms that glass is not always greener but even worst. Chris does interact with Emilia Harcourt at A.U.G.U.S headquarters and see Rick Flag Jr alive. Emilia Harcourt makes some drastic changes after season 1, if you don’t know who is she. I will give a brief summary, Emilia Harcourt is a A.U.G.U.S agent who is a complaint relationship with Chris in season 2. She gets into bar fights and deals with inner demons in latest season. Emilia is a love interest of Chris but strays away from pursuing it romantically. Chris and Emilia relationship as rough around the edges, but slowly patching up some spots. Peacemaker has his own problems with family and friends.
Peacemaker and Harcourt
8 months later before season two, Chris and Harcourt goes to Burger place to hang out. Afterwards, goes to a cruise ship to see rock bands like Foxy Shazam and Nelson. In Earth-2, Emilia and Harcourt still retains their friendship same as Earth-1. While Chris thinks about staying in Earth-2 permanently, Emilia, John, Adeboya and Adrian talks him out of it. Emillia is more than just a friend but support system to Chris. Emilia also teams up with Adeboy and Sasha to stop Rick Flag Sr. Chris felt down about how he killed Keith and Auggie in his life. His friends and people around him like Emilia tells him that who he is. Furthermore, Chris changes his mind and decided to stay in Earth-1. Even Emilia and Chris shared a kiss one time but short-lived. Chris asked that “did it mean something”, Emilia replied “yes”.
In episode 8, Chris was dancing and excited for that answer. In my opinion, I felt that their relationship was kind of rocky throughout season two. Personally, I think Chris does care for Emilia Harcourt in some way. While, I was watching season two, the relationship didn’t click with me. I wanted those two to break up because Emilia had it rough after losing her job. Especially went she insulted a customer at the Burger place. She needs therapy and some space to work on herself. Henceforth, I don’t think Chris and Emilia is ready to be in relationship. Chris does care for her and willing to protect went harm comes there way. While, Chris is stuck in Salvation, Peacemaker doesn’t have super powers. Even though, there is no plans of season 3 which James Gunn stated but Salvation will play a part in Lanterns TV show.
Thoughts
John Cena and Jennifer Holland did a great job, portraying the characters in Peacemaker (2022 TV show). Along with fellow actors Freddie Stroma (Vigilante), Robert Patrick (Auggie Smith), Danielle Brooks (Leota Adebayo) and Steve Agee (John Economos) which all of them has great chemistry. I have seen many shows in Gunn’s DC Universe like Creature Commandos and Harley Quinn TV show that made me laugh out loud. Peacemaker (2022 TV show) lasted for two seasons with 8 episodes to watch. James Gunn’s stated in a podcast that watch Superman 2025 film to get connection. Although the Justice Gang makes an appearance in episode 1 with Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl along with Maxwell Lord. It was great to see them in Peacemaker show and probably appear in Man of Tomorrow sequel. Anyways, I didn’t see Chris and Emilia in a relationship yet but needs to improve themselves.
Peacemaker (2022 TV show) is available to watch on HBO max. If you’re a DC fan, do you think Harcourt and Emilia will have a relationship in the futurePeacemaker season two was a wild run with Gunn’s charm and jokes that makes me laugh at loud. The series is now over and there is indication that Chris and Emilia relationship will develop..I would say Emilia is my least favorite character in the show. Only James Gunn will tell us about upcoming plans for Peacemaker in the near future. Chris and Emilia has start Checkmate to help meta-human but I am still wondering what role will it play.
