Justin faces off against Warbeck and Eric rescues Vicki before building blows up with bombs inside. All of the students evaluate the facility and movie ends there. Expect No Mercy 1995 movie has some lip-syncing issues parody old kung fu movies. Along with some cheesy line delivered by the characters themselves. I remember watching Billy Blanks, while I was younger and thought it was Tae Bo at first. Fight scenes is not bad but its very funny to see. Of course, the film was very low budget in some way. I didn’t expect much from this movie. There is a video game tie-in developed by Microforum and it’s a fighting game. I think it takes place during the film or after. Warbeck was portrayed by a different actor not Wolf Larson.

Matt McMuscle covered this game on “The Worst Fighting Gamevideo segment on his channel. The game has digitized sprites and fatalities just like Mortal Kombat. Even game’s intro stated that as well. I remember playing this game on MS DOS back in 1990s and it was terrible. Looking back at it now, I can see why the game bombed. Expect no Mercy game has two players to play with a friend. Character animations is very choppy and feel like a poor cardboard cutout game. Movie goes, it was average for me and effect were so retro. Billy Blanks and Jala Merhi did a good job with this film. Jala did reprise his role for the game. It’s been a while since, I watch a martial arts movie since Shang Chi and Ten Rings. I have the comic as well and will mention it in another article.

Closing

Expect no Mercy is a very low budget film doesn’t take itself seriously. There was not a lot of violence in this movie and not suitable for younger audience. The cast put on a performance and there is a lot go martial artists in this movie. We got car chasing scene with Micheal Bay explosions. Overacting villain who is often yelling and some virtual reality. I am not a fan of VR because of motion sickness. In this movie, they somehow explore that. 90s virtual reality was kind of dated but not like it is nowadays. VR has changed the way people think and create with innovation technology. Two major characters fight against a samurai, ninja and evil clown. Sure the 90s was cheesy at its finest. Two police detectives didn’t do much in the movie other than getting killed.

Anywho, Expect No Mercy is a mattie and not to be taken seriously. Acting is supar and sometimes makes me laugh at the same time. I wouldn’t say the movie is very bad but didn’t expect much. The movie was in Canda not in the USA. I had a good laugh at some of the beginning scenes of the movie. There are more movies based on video games that are bad in the 90s. Haven’t seen a movie like this in year but I can see it being on SyFy channel. Expect No Mercy is available on DVD and YouTube. I don’t know about the game, but you can download it.
