Inquiry Counsel – SaltFishGames
Inquiry Counsel is a single player visual novel adventure indie game developed by SaltfishGames First all, I want to thank the developer Feng Ling for reaching to me to play the demo. The game takes place in Song Dynasty of China. Main protagonist Shen Bisher solves various cases around Lin’an country. Shen is accompanied by Lin Zhenyue who is similar to Maya Frey from Ace Attorney. Speaking of that, Inquiry Counsel is very similar to Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney games. There is alittle differences between the two. You can talk, look for clues and find contradiction in someone testimony. The game graphics is very bright and HD bring out anime look. Also, Inquiry Counsel doesn’t have a english dub unfortunately but in Chinese language.
There is two chapters in the demo, for example Chapter 1, Arrival in Lin’an is about Shen getting his purse stolen and being accused of it. Chapter 2 The Poisoned Ledger is about a Regisrar dying of poisoning and Zhang San being accused of it. Alike Ace Attorney, there is no plenty and cross-examination in this game. The game is winable and can’t lose what so ever. In my opinion, Inquiry Counsel is a fun detective like game if you’re fan of Capcom’s Ace Attorney series. Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S+ – Crypton Future Media
Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S+ is a puzzle game developed of Crypton Future Media. I want to thank Komodo Games for giving me Steam Key to along with DLC. The game is about solving puzzles on a 10×10, 15×14 and 20×20 format. There is two game modes “Normal Puzzle” and Special Puzzle” to choose from. The goal is to complete illustrations along with missions to unlock new costumes. You can unlock room furniture. In gameplay, you have to fill box with squares and Xs but don’t worry there is hints along with auto-assist mechanic. There is a gallery mode, jukebox which you can listen to music by Piapro. If you ever stuck at the game, tutorial will give you a refresher. Myself I had trouble with puzzle games throughout the years.
Logic Paint has some well-depth pixel art giving it lighthearted feel. When starting a new mission, Miku facial expressions change went players get it wrong or right. You get 3 hint, try the use them wisely. I would highly recommended playing this game for Miku fans out there. Soundtrack doesn’t contain copyright music like Rhythm games. One more thing, players can select a characters from Meiko, Rin, Kaito and Megumi. Hatsune Miku Lgoic Paint S+ is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation and Mobile.
Final Thoughts
While playing the game, I did had little trouble solving puzzle but had to chance it. In the past, I have played Hatsune Miku Project Diva X back in PlayStation 4 era. Also, love the artstyle making it more storybook-ish and developers did amazing job. Check out the videos below on my playthrough on my YouTube channel on how I failed this game. Nothingless, I am planned on playing more indie games on PC in the near future Really need to watch my computer specs in order to fully enjoy them. Inquiry Counsel, I did kind of struggle with finding contradiction but finding evidence is easier in my opinion. SaltFishGames uses Ren’py engine for their game. Speaking of Ace Attorney, I have to buy Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy one day. I hope Inquiry Counsel will have more chapters in the near future, also have a windowed option.
I don’t know it will have a english dubbed option in the future. Still trying to learn little Chinese as I play the game. Both games has immersive gameplay and sometimes use your brain to think of a logical. Puzzles and detective games can do it for you. I wonder what is the real story behind Shen and who is his rival. Just like Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth, I am getting ahead of myself here. Don’t worry, both Hatsune Miku and Inquiry doesn’t break your PC but these are lightweight. PS: The create use AI and solo developer. I have figure about crowd design and characters but I didn’t care for that. Myself, I am not a huge fan of AI but still going to try this game out regularly. Overall, I love the character designs of Inquiry.
