Alien Earth Summary
Alien Earth is a prequel to 1979 film and takes place two years before mainline movies. The plot is about three types synthetics, cyborg and hybrid, which is the main focus of the show. Cyborgs, are machine with enhanced body ports and machinery. Synthetics can switch bodies with a human consciousness and hybrids which they can sync with Alien lifeforms. Alien Earth is directed by Noah Hawley who known for Fargo and Legion, the franchise is created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. Earth, revolves around a hybrid named Wendy (who is named after Peter Pan character). Wendy (Sydney Chandler) resides at Prodigy Corporation run by Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin), who wants immortality. She becomes the leader of “Lost Boys” to uncover what is Prodigy Corporation is planning.

Wendy has a brother named Joe Hermit, who is a medic in Prodigy Corp with a history. She was a special child and Prodigy Corporation transfer her subconsciousness to adult woman body along with Curly, Nibs, Smee and Slightly. These lost boys acts like child in grown person body but have real named like Slightly (aka Aarush Singh) and Wendy (Marcy Hermit). Prodigy has experiment on Alien bio specimens from Alien (1979 movie). In the first episode, Morrow is a cyborg and was apart of the crew of Maginot. Just like 1979 film, ship was invaded by Xenomoprh and Marrow locked himself in Maginot control room. Later on, Marrow is a security officer for Weyland-Yutani Corporation (rivals to Prodigy). Due to ongoing feud between two corporations throughout the series, Yutani and Kavalier wants something in return.
Can You Get Into Series?
Let just say, I am not huge fan of the Alien franchise but watch crossover movie with Predator. Also, got on Alien ride at Universal Studios and don’t forgot video game crossovers like Dead by Daylight. Mortal Kombat, Fortnite and a main inspiration for Nintendo’s Metroid game series because main female protagonist Samus Aran because Ripley (Alien 1979). First impression, I love how they show incorporate Disney’s Peter Pan because child will never grow up. Which Kavalier calls himself Peter Pan and Curly is named Jane (named after Wendy Darling and Edward’s daughter). The Lost Boys doesn’t wear animal costumes but named after them. They play a huge role in the show, for example, Slightly making deal with Morrow on bring Xenomorph sample to Yutani and he will spare his mother. Aarush causes a facehugger to kill Arthur Sylvia apart of Morrow’s deal.

Wendy rounds up The Lost Boys after learning the truth about what Prodigy Corporation is planning to dispose of them. Joe, Nibs and Wendy tries to escape Prodigy Corp Island but was corned by solider. Hermit shoots Nibs and Wendy’s angrily felt betrayed by him. After being held in Prodigy’s holding cell, Wendy manipulates cameras and Xenomorph to take over Prodigy Corporation. In my opinion, the show doesn’t focus on synthetics as much as cyborgs and hybrids. I felt confused because the show has different subplots and very convoluted in some way. Kavalier is the most hated character in the show because he portray as arrogant and self-centered person. I do feel sorry for The Lost Boys because Prodigy Corporation betrayed them and hiding the real true. In early episodes, we do get to see Xenomorphs attack Prodigy soldiers and USCSS Maginot just like Nostromo in Alien 1979 movie.
Thoughts on Alien Earth
Alien Earth is an 8-episodes TV series that you can watch in a day. I don’t like those facehuggers just to put it out there. I wonder what season 2 has in store for The Lost Boys and Prodigy Corporation. Will he learn about Xenomorph true origins and other specimens. Horror elements from Alien 1979 was presented on the show. Xenomorph stalks his prey and off characters on or off screen for audience to see. There might more creatures in season two just like Sheep, which causes Tootles’s death. Alien Earth provides suspense and drama in every corner of the episodes. In Prodigy Corporation lab, there are more Xenomorph eggs and the question is. Will Wendy because Xenomorph Queen in the near future? Now that’s a right theory for folks to ponder getting to the series.

Wendy can understand Xenomorph which makes her a hybrid and perfect candidate. Will The Lost Boys mutate into different types of Xenomorphs and serve Wendy? Well will have to find out more went season two get closer. In closing, Alien Earth is not a bad show for newcomers and veterans of franchise. My rating is 7/10 and I am hoping to see more in the near future. There is Alien: Romulus (2024) available now to buy on Dvd and digital. Earth is available on Hulu and FX. Note: There is Alien: Isolation (2019) and a 2014 video game based on the same name. I recently saw Predator Killer of Killers and found myself enjoying animated film. Anyways, what are your thoughts on FX’s Alien Earth in the comments. Thank you for reading this blogpost and tune into the next one from yours truly.
