What is Livescreamers 2023?
Livscreamers 2023 is an American screenlife horror film developed by Michelle Lannantuono. The plot is about a group of content creators/streamers called Janus Gaming. Janus Gaming plays an indie horror game called “House of Souls” which is similar to Phasmophobia that features character customization and co-op. Janus Gaming consist of Mitch, Jon, Dice, Glen and Taylor. There are many characters in the film that get killed early on. While Janus Gaming is filming a let’s play or live streaming with bantering each other in the process. Mitch mentions that House of Souls is an indie game that he got free code for. I will talk about film’s take on content creation and streaming later. While playing House of Souls, Janus Gaming’s Mitch invited a special guest Lucy who won a contest to be in a video/ livestream.
Lucy has been a fan of Janus Gaming since day one. As Janus Gaming journey through mansion of House of Souls. There are stuck in a room and strap into a chair. Game announcer stated what is game about with trivial question about different video game franchises like Super Mario Bros, Perfect Dark and The Legend of Zelda, Despite some of the question was rigged and causes suspicions among Janus Gaming. Janus Gaming’s Zelda gets a question wrong and get killed in the game causing a panic among content creators. They’re question the game whether its real or fake but later on process. During trivial game, Taylor gets confront for texting minors and sending picture, making his wife Glen jealous. Jon and Davey along with rest of Janus Gaming berate him due to that. Nemo, Jon, Dice and other voted for Taylor to stay behind, while rest explore the dungeon.
Skeletons in the Closet
While exploring Museum like room, Nemo opens up about a girl he help from self harm Nemo says he blocked her from his DMs and having trouble moving on. Later on, Nemo and Lucy is chased by a black monster, while other members of Janus helps them escape. Taylor is free from the cage and goes to a room that game’s main antagonist Siren is in stone. He frees Siren and other Janus Gaming hold the controller still to avoid detection. Next part of the room, Janus Gaming is still split up and found themselves in a bomb room. Glen was the next victim and members of Janus Gaming fail to save her. NPC Davey, drags Jon into the dungeon to kill him. One of the game developers Jeremy tells Janus Gaming how to win the game.
Player must take the gem from Siren’s heart. Dice drops into a tar pit and footage of her mocking Mitch along with other members of Janus Gaming. Janus Gaming forgives her and tries to save Dice from death but its too late. Mitch, Lucy and Nemo was one of left in the game, Taylor was killed by Siren in beginning of the movie. Mitch, Lucy and Nemo goes to find Siren. Lucy and Nemo work together to get key gem from Siren. Later on, there were two crossbows opposite side of the room Lucy reveals that she was girl in Nemo DMs and he shots at her leading to death. Movie ends, that Nemo survives and police knocking on the door. Livescreamers 2023 tackles everything that content creators deal with on daily basis. Myself as small streamers, I struggle with getting views and not apart of stream team.
How Movie Handles Live Streaming
Livescreamers does have handle how streamers are portray and issues they deal with. There is DMs which some content creators get trouble for, especially interaction with minors. I wouldn’t say name but I know who they’re. Along with getting free codes to video games from indie developers, trust me it happen to me, because Janus Gaming has huge following. Introduction that content creators do on let’s play and live streaming about subscribe to their channel. The film also touch up on getting low viewers on your video and being solo without being a community. Myself, I get low views on my live streams and YouTube videos. Down the line, I look at larger content creators to get inspiration to improve in my content. There is some LGBTQ mentions in the movie along with race being a content creator space.
Horror games featuring co-op is a popular thing in streaming as well. I don’t want to forgot those quick-time event that someone screw with players. Unreal Engine was apart of this production with Octopunk Media. I felt that graphics is very low-budget which I found disappointing because UE can do better than that. Streaming setups is run in the mill cheap in my opinion. Actors is not too bad in this film and portray content creators very well. Another problem is no live chat because its called Livescreamers which about live streaming. I couldn’t tell its a let’s play or going live because the film misdirect viewers. Livescreamers is sort of the worst movie went covering content creation. There are movie that can handle it very well and Michelle did mention about her becoming a public figure on internet.
Other Livescreamers 2023 Thoughts
The Proud Family Louder and Prouder season two episode “Game Changers” did it well. Anywho, I felt that its missing something and felt that both let’s play/livestreaming was meshed together in one film. The film does talk about trolls as well but I have experience it myself. That’s another post for another day but there some mixed review about Livecreamers. If you want a movie based on live streaming, I would give this a matinee just like Martin from Double Toasted says.
