Pragmata – Capcom
Pragmata is an third person action -adventure game developed by Capcom (Street Fighter, Mega Man and others). The plot is about two protagonists Diana (who is a child-like android) and Hugh (astronaut) on a quest to face hostile AI along with being standard in space. Hugh and Diana must fight AI-controlled robots and find their way back to Earth. During demo, Hugh fights off robots while Diana is drawing. Diana and Hugh defeated the robots and find themselves in Lunar Base Space Station. Hugh and Diana go through obstacles in their path and finally reach control center to power Lunar Space Station. Our main characters face a huge combat robot and defeated it. Thus, demo ends with Hugh and Diana powered the space station, also wondering what they are going to do next.

Pragmata plays similarly to Resident Evil with limited ammo. Hugh uses weapons to dispatch enemies, while Diana uses hacking skills to solve puzzles and weaken enemies for more damage. Hacking is what makes the game stand out of the game. It’s very easy but probably me more difficult in full version. Also, Diana will help you defeat enemies by shouting Hugh to jump and more. Hugh can dodge, hover and wield multiple weapons to defend himself. I can’t wait for full version of the game to release. Pragmata will be available April 24, 2026, for PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Xbox.
Highguard – Wildlight Entertainment
Highguard is a team first-person shooter developed by Wildlight Entertainment (a company that was founded by former Respawn Entertainment employees who worked on Apex Legends). The object of the game is to raid opposite team base using a magical sword named “Shieldbreaker”. Shieldbreaker can summon a mechanical ram that breaks the team’s base shield. During that sequence, the team with Shieldbreaker have to wait until process is finished before attack. While opposite team have to defend their base and protect their generators. When the team with Shieldbreaker will have to destroy generators in order to win the game.

Highguard has classes of character like recon, defensive and many more. There is loot crates that feature weapons types like rare and epic. Players can shop for armor pieces and swap weapons. First, they have to harvest crystals for currency. You can mount on horses instead of walking to your destination. Each character has ultimate and other abilities like sacrificing souls. Speaking of souls, went you die, your teammates can revive and opposite severe them preventing them from returning. Once you destroy generators, you have to return to base, also went enemy has Shieldbreaker. Highguard is available now on PlayStation, PC and Xbox.
Thoughts on Highguard and Pragmata
First off, Highguard I had minor issues with the game. Harvesting system is a quick time event which felt out of place. Also, there were an issues with matchmaking because players get disconnected and not replaced by another player. Good thing that game gives players option to quit the match without penalties. During long range combat, I felt that some one of weapons are overpowered that just me. Other than that, I had fun with Highguard and love Slade along with Scarlet (who reminds me of Wraith). Character designs are pretty amazing, and I can see Wildlight Entertainment improving the game in long run.

Maybe Highguard might make esports presences in the near future. Some critics felt that reminds them of early access game. Others think it because layoffs that affect game performance, but Highguard accumulated 97,000 players on Steam and consoles after launch. There were even negative reviews on the game, but some players dropped off the game. Players went back to Marvel Rivals, Overwatch 2 and other alternate hero shooter games. 5vs5 was so fun along with 3vs3 but felt that you will need friends to enjoy it more. As for Pragmata, I have to say that “Game of the Year” because family dynamic, which reminds me of Spy X Family.
Closing
Diana is adorable, I love how end of the mission went when she draws a picture of her and Hugh. I can see this is one of Capcom’s best works and enjoy hacking mechanics as well. You can use items as well to restore your health, Diana is one of the best supporting characters in video games next to Elizabeth from Bioshock. Pragmata is one of the most anticipated games I will get in 2026. Therefore, it will likely be released after my birthday. I never had so much fun playing single player games like this. The developers did amazing job with combat and soundtrack as well.

Also, I love the chemistry between two major characters which reminds me buddy-cop films. Highguard and Pragmata are not bad games, but I wonder what the future holds with them.
