What is Hazbin Hotel
Hazbin Hotel is a adult animated musical tv show developed by Vivienne “Vivizie Pop” Medrano. The plot is about Charlie Morningstar , who starts a hotel to redeem sinners in order to go to heaven. In the pilot episode, we are introduce to major characters like radio demon (Alastor), adult star Angel Dust and her girlfriend Vaggie. Charlie is the princess of Hell and daughter of Lucifer Morningstar (who appears in “Dad Beat Dad” episode). She wants to go to heaven, which is her main goal for creating a hotel but its not what it seems. Episode 1 “Overture”, Charlie meets with Adam about extermination and visiting Heaven. Afterwards, gets shot down and made fun of. Later on, episode 6 “Welcome to Heaven”, Vaggie and Charlie goes to a trial for Angel Dust to become redeemed for Heaven.
Angel Dust is deemed to go to heaven but Sera denies, which Emily and Charlie sings a song “You Didn’t Know”. During, musical, Adam reveals that Vaggie was an angel before becoming fallen which shocks Charlie. Charlie and Vaggie leaves from Hell and Adam starts extermination early instead of 265 days. As residents of Hazbin Hotel get ready to battle Angels, Charlie seeks help from Alastor just like pilot. During battle of Heaven and Hell, hotel gets destroyed and residents sing to rebuild it. At the end of season 1, Lute who is assists Adam, tells Lilith to stop Charlie in exchange for staying in heaven. Hazbin Hotel is one of Vivizie Pop must popular series in quite some time. After posting pilot on YouTube and surpassed 100 million views on YouTube. Due to the success, Amazon Prime picked it up and season two set to air on October 2025.
What is Helluva Boss
Helluva Boss is a spinoff series of Hazbin Hotel, the plot is about organization called IMP (Immediate Murder Professional) led by Blitzo. I.M.P. goal is to get revenge for clients who was wronged went they are alive. Blitz is not only member of I.M.P, it consist of Luna (a hellhound and adopted daughter of Blitz). A married couple Millie and Moxxie, which is basely it for the members of I.M.P. Throughout the series, Helluva Boss doesn’t have a storyline but operates as sitcom. Notable parts of Helluva Boss is Blitz’s relationship with Stolas, which he uses his book to travel to land of the living. In Helluva Boss, we learn more about characters backstory like Moxxie belonging in mafia-like family. Blitz has a sister who got out of rehab and many more. Hellva Boss is on season two right and probably getting renewed for third later.
The show tone down musical numbers unlike Hazbin Hotel. Medrano explains that Helluva Boss focus on interpersonal relationships with characters. While Hazbin Hotel talks about redemption and consequences in that show. Both series has the same adult jokes which is the suitable for younger audience. Blitzo is one of the my least favorite out of the group. He uses people for personal gain like getting Stolas’s book in one episode. At one point in the show, Blitzo breaks up with Stolas and his world fell into despair. Even, Blitz has problem of his own like dealing with Satan and family as well. Just like Hazbin’s pilot, “Mission Zero” Blitz wants to start a human assassination company to make profit. Hellva Boss takes a different path than Hazbin ever would.
Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel Crossover?
Here is the thing, a crossover episode between Helluva and Hazbin would be amazing. I wonder how it will play out, Charlie meets Blitoz. While Luna and Vaggie would be at odds with each other. Angel Dust would hit on Moxxie and Millie would get jealous. I don’t know about Husk and Niffy because we didn’t know what role would they play. Would Blitz and Charlie be business partner or enemies? Charlie wouldn’t agree with Blitzo methods of assassination and wants to redeemed him for heaven. Meanwhile, Blitzo would rejected Charlie offer of being part of her redemption program but free load there. IMP might go on a mission and Charlie learns about Grimoire which you can be transported to anywhere. Charlie might steal the book and go back to heaven to see her mother. Stolas might appear in the crossover episode as well.
I can see Lute and C.H.E.R.U.B might team up against Hazbin along with I.M.P. They might be a new character being introduce in the special as main antagonist. I am not Vivienne but that’s just my theory of how does crossover episode. In my opinion, I would be excited for this, but we didn’t know if it comes to light yet. Therefore, I really enjoy both series because laugh out loud black comedy humor. I wouldn’t be surprised that these series is connected and apart of universe. Vivienne Medrano created a masterpiece and a great medicine for laughter. The writing reminds me of Borderlands and James Guinn media and Harley Quinn show. Speaking of that, Charlie and Vaggie reminds of two Batman female characters. I am talking about Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn lgbtq relationship.
Closing
Both shows doesn’t shy away from lgbtq representation and going off the script sometimes. That’s why people love it because off the rail tone. Will we see a crossover episode in the near future? Probably, if Viviziepop decided to make it but probably in 2027 or beyond. Overall, I would recommended watching both series for adult humor and for well-done musicals which reminds of old Disney movies like The Lion King. You have to give it up for voice actors Keith David, Stephaine Beatriz, Brandon Rogers and Richard Horvitz. They did amazing job with portraying characters which fans will cosplay and make fanfic of. Both series is available to watch on YouTube and Amazon Prime. On that note, there is another series called “The Amazing Digital Circus” which is YouTube pilot that went viral and was picked up by Neftlix.
