Comic Characters That Aren’t DC or Marvel
There are some comic characters that aren’t DC or Marvel that I really enjoy and love. Everyone knows that Marvel and DC Comics are the most lucrative company in nerdom. For, Marvel Comics, you got your Spider-Man, Thor, X-Men and Fantastic Four. DC Comics had Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and more. But, in this article, I will highlight some comic book characters that’re not in DC and Marvel Universe. These characters are very obscure, and some might be well-known. Whether you are a blerd like me or just plain geek, this article is for everyone in fandome. I will do more popular characters than one’s I grew up with.
5. Omni-Man – Invincible
Omni Man is a Viltrumite and father of the titular character Invincible. He goes by name Nolan Grayson while his time on earth and marry Debbie Grayson. Nolan teaches his Invincible about Viltrumite heritage but later on the comics. Omni-Man started to attack Invincible and betray Debbie. He is shown crying and later on went to another planet to get re-marry to Andressa, and had another son named Oliver. Omni-Man is the strongest anti-hero and equal to Superman. In the tv show, he is voice by JK Simmons, which is the perfect choice. Omni-Man appearance in Mortal Kombat 1 has a guest character. He is one of my favorite comic characters and glad to meet him. 4. Riley Freeman – The Boondocks
Riley Freeman is a brother of Huey and grandson of Robert Freeman. He is the stereotypical gangster of black youth. In some episodes, he has artist talent and being a misfit to his family. Riley is sometimes a foil to Huey in morals. In The Boondocks, Riley Freeman is a breakout character like Uncle Rukus. He also uses vulgar comments toward woman and many other. Riley hangs around with rappers like Gangsalicious. Normally, he gets into fights as well and criminal activity for example Lamilton, I wish there was a reboot or remake of The Boondocks. You can buy and check out the episodes online if you like.
3. Maxx – The Maxx
The Maxx is a being that exist in real world and alternate reality. In the real world, Maxx was a homeless man living in a box. While in another reality, he is the protector of the Jungle-Queen. Jungle Queen is actually Julie-Winters, a freelance social worker who helps Maxx. The Maxx protect Juile aka Jungle Queen from Mr. Gone Mr. Gone is the main antagonist of The Maxx, he is a telepathic powers and immortal. He goes around SA woman and The ISZ from Outback alternate reality. I haven’t seen The Maxx tv show in ages, since its release on April 8 1995 on MTV. 2. Rusty – Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot
Rusty is a robot intended to replace Big Guy. He is now Big Guy sidekick and idolizes him in many ways. Rusty acts like a child but give Big Guy moral support. His abilities are to fly and shoot nucleoproton. Big Guy and Rusty fight off alien threats like The Squillacci Empire along with villains such as Legion Ex Machina and Dr. Neugog. Rusty is also voiced by Pamela Aldon (Bobby Hill from King of the Hill) and reminds me of Astro Boy. I remember watching tv show on Fox Kids back in 1999 and love it. Definitely, buy the comic but its only 2 volumes along with complete series dvd on Amazon.
1. Andriana “Adriana” Seidelman – Cyber 6
Cybersix is a hero that protects the tow of Meridiana at night from Dr Von Reichter and his son Jose. She dresses as a man named Andrian Seidelman by day but at night as a woman. Cybersix is companied by Data-7 and she is a female gynoid. Throughout the series, Cybersix finds out about her brother along with friends with Lucas Amato. I remember watching couple episodes of Cybersix tv series. Really hoping for a remake but both creators passed away from heart attack. There is a lawsuit with two creators and James Cameron about being so similar to Dark Angel.
Special Comic Characters – Archie Andrews
I know there is a lot of variants of Archie Andrews but I am going by Archie’s Weird Mysteries. I know that Achie Andrews came from Archie Comics as well. He is a school news reporter in Riverdale. Archie loves to help others and has a lot of friends such as Jughead Jones. In the show, Archie has multiple love interests like Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge. Weird Mysteries was my favorite version of Archie Andrews but I have watched CW Riverdale. Check out Archie Comics series and watch Weird Mysteries as well.

Those are my picks of comic characters that aren’t DC or Marvel. There are some mentions such as Negan (The Walking Dead), Spawn (Spawn), The Tick (Tick) and Armstrong (Archer & Armstrong).
