I had some many memories of playing some classic SNES games during my childhood. There was fighting, platformers, sports and other video game genres. SNES had enhancement chip for Super FX made for polygons like StarFox. There is ton of accessories for SNES such as Super Game Boy, which allows players to Game Boy games on the system. Super Scope, which is equivalent to NES Zapper, for shooter games like Battle Clash that doesn’t require a controller. Super NES Mouse which operates like a PC Mouse and compatible to games like Mario Paint. There are third-party accessories like SNES Multi-tap, which allows four players couch play with your friends. SNES console also has sound system of 16-bit digital signal processor.

Regional lockout which prevents players from loading games outside their country. There is a Japanese counterpart called Super Famicom which is very similar to USA and EU SNES. 6. Batman Forever (1995) – Probe Entertainment
Batman Forever video game is based on 1995 film starting Val Kilmer, Jim Carry, Tommy Lee Jones and Nicole Kidman. The game is notorious bad because complicated controls and very hard difficulty. While I was playing the game, had trouble getting through the first level. Batman Forever uses Mortal Kombat engine which transforms into a fighting and beat’em up hybrid. Players can choose Batman or Robin which different movesets and gadgets. You can select gadgets in the beginning on the level. Players can go solo or co-op with a friend. Batman can fight off enemies and solve puzzles in game. There is a Batman Forever: The Arcade Game which is similar to SNES version. In the game, you face off against Two-Face and The Riddler from Batman’s rogue gallery.

Batman Forever was the terrible one indeed and remember not playing it again. If you want to buy Batman Forever, it’s available on SNES, PC, Gameboy and Sega Genesis. Along with buying movie for educational purposes or just for kick and giggles. Batman Forever DVD is available on Amazon. Let’s go to the best SNES I have played.
5. Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension (1996) – Tose
Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension is a fighting game based on late Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga series. Hyper Dimension features 11 characters from Frieza to Majin Buu saga. Each characters have their own special moves and desperation attack. Players can power up, knock opponents into another stage and clash. There are three modes, Story, VS and Tournament mode. This game was developed by same team as Super Butoden series. Hyper Dimension was worked on 15-month span and cater to Street Fighter crowd. The game has radiant graphics and 16-bit pixel art. I haven’t owned the game but played it on emulator during my time in school. I was a huge fan of Dragon Ball growing up and wanted to play a game based on that. Fun fact: There is a Mugen game called Hyper Dragon Ball Z, which the name alludes to Hyper Dimension.

Hyper Dimension is up there with Butoden series and found myself enjoying it. If you want to buy Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension on SNES or Famicon, its available on Amazon. I know you guys’ busy playing Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero but player base had died down. Here is another worst game I every played.
4. Captain Novolin (1992) – Sculptured Software
Captain Novolin is an educational game developed by Sculptured Software which brought you Mortal Kombat and Super Star Wars. Players take control of a superhero named Captain Novolin to save Mayor Gooden of Pineville from supervillain Blubberman. This game is about diabetes and teaches kids about health as well. In gameplay, Novolin must keep his blood glucose in the safe zone. While avoiding junk food enemies that looks like doughnuts and more. If Novolin blood glucose is low then it’s game over. Novolin get advice from doctors in the beginning of the level. Also Captain Novolin, talk about insulins as well for diabetic players. The game is apart of Raya system game series such as Rex Roman: Experimental Surgeon, Packy and Marlon along with Bronkie the Bronchiasaurus.

Captain Novolin was a bad game but celebrities like John Ratzenberger use the game to teach kids about diabetes. Of course, Captain Novolin teaches people how to manage their diabetes but it hits the mark. Captain Novolin is available to buy or check out for yourself. I don’t have problem with diabetes but watch your health guys. On the best game I ever played.
3. Pocky & Rocky (1992) – Natsume
Pocky & Rocky is a top-down shooter developed by Natsume (same company brought you Wild Guns). The game is about a shrine miko named Pocky and a Tanuki named Rocky. Our heroes face off against rogue Yokais and other Japanese Mythology. During gameplay, Pocky uses Gohei and Ofudas to repel foes. Rocky uses his tail and throw leaves at enemies. Each characters have different abilities and fight off waves of enemies along with boss. Player’s can collection powerups and uses bombs to destroy on-screen enemies. Pocky and Rocky has a dodge mechanic, which allows evade enemy attacks. Due to the success, Pocky & Rocky had a sequel and a remastered additional called “Reshrined”. 2. Ghoul Patrol (1994) – LucasArts
Ghoul Patrol is developed by LucasArts and a top-down shooter game. The game is a sequel to my favorite SNES game Zombies at my Neighbors. I felt this game is a downgrade from its predecessor. Due to the graphic and how the gameplay feels in a nutshell. The plot is about Zeke and Juile save the world from museum horror exhibition coming to life. Just like original game, players can rescue civilians from horror b movie monsters. You can collect items and weapons to help in your quest. In my opinion, the gameplay is still there but magic from original was gone. Game graphics (motion pixel) were completely different along with soundtrack. After you rescue of civilians, there is an arrow pointing at a exit to complete the stage.

I had problems with this game. There is where some new content added, but I was not impressed. Original game offers challenges and unforgettable enemies to face. If you want to buy Ghost Patrol & Zombies at My Neighbors, its available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC. I would try out both games to see what I mean. In my opinion, it’s the worst sequel of my favorite title but here is the last best game I enjoy.
1. Troddlers (1993) – Atod
Troddlers is a puzzle game developed by Atod and reminisce of Lemmings. The plot is about two sorcerer apprentices called Hokus and Pokus. Both Hokus and Pokus cause trouble and let out little creatures called Troddlers. Its up to Hokus and Pokus to get them back before Divinius comes back. Troddlers is a very easy game, which the goal materializes block create an exit for Troddlers. There are different missions such as completing level within time-limit or more. Players can do game modes such solo, co-op and face each other in vs. Each player is limited and you can take them away for storage. Collect fruit and more to get more points in game. There are types of Troddlers such as Zombies (which can harm) and normal ones. Along with facing off enemies during certain levels in the game.

Troddlers was very relaxing game and had so many memories playing that game. I wish they re-made this for next generation consoles. I haven’t play Lemmings before but now I might in the future. The soundtrack is composed by Allister Bimble, who does The Pucky Squire and The Lost Viking. Troddlers is available now on SNES and MS-DOS.
Closing

What about the worst games such as Terminator 2 Judgement Day (video game) and Doomsday Warrior (Taiketsu Brass Numbers). I didn’t want to put high-profile games but some obscure ones. I know that Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat and TMNT Turtles in Time should be on the list as well. If you want to buy SNES Classic to experience your favorite games go for it. What about being original SNES console? That’s your choice to but I don’t know how much it cost. You might get it on Retro GameStop or online gaming store to acquire. Folks who want to download it for free, you can use SNES 9X or Fightcade.
