Gamers on Social Media
As gamers, we use social media to show off our skills, voice out opinions and promote your content. I know that people will be annoyed by killstreaks and compilation of first-person shooters games with copyright music. But that’s love of gamers because we post what games we enjoy. While feedback and opinions are welcome in social media, some of them take it too seriously. Which is called “cancel culture” a term went some gets doxed and bobared with negative comments to ruin their life. There was a scene in Wreck it Ralph Breaks the Internet, which the main character Ralph reads YouTube comments. While reading those comments, Ralph notice negative comments and talks to Yesss. Yesss explains that “the internet brings out the worst in people”, that’s a valid explanation on social media today.

While other hate pronouns in video games, getting upset on how female characters look and etc. I have opinions about video games and sometimes I don’t like change. Whether it’s a remake of a classic game and turns out half-baked. Changing genres and race-swapping characters from original materials (I know I will be talking about woke culture later article). Anyways, I will share on what is best social media for gamers to use. Note: I am not expert on social media but give my overall experience with it.
Twitter(X)
Twitter (X) is a place where trending topics like gaming, politics and more come to play. If you want to grow your presence as gamer. Follow similar accounts, engage with them and tweet out your opinions on out them. My experience I have a very little following, but I do talk about anime sometimes. That’s if you don’t feel comfortable talking about video games all the time. I know that’s my niche, but it may not work out in the long run. Only follows those who engage with your posts and there are ghost followers (who don’t engage as well). If you’re a content creator before of those artist bots account that will scam you. I am sick and tired of those and will block them as well.

I know being a small account and no one like or retweet with your post. Trust me I am experience it now but some one told me “the right people will come” and that’s fair. I currently 3,333 followers and only 10% engage with my posts. There are small accounts who got more followers and engagement than I. No one knows who I am in social media, and I don’t know Elon Musk’s algorithm. BlueSky is the same, but it might take me years grow on that platform. I think it’s for artists not for content creators I might be wrong about that. Anyways, I know X is toxic right now and cause flame wars. Check it out X if you haven’t.
Tik Tok
I know Tik Tok is going to be ban next year in January but Its best place for gamers out there. Tik Tok algorithm is amazing and show off small content creators unlike Instagram and YouTube. Although, Tik Tok has change algorithm in the past years. I have success on that platform went I first signed up. My videos skyrocket and got 100 followers in the last year. My videos are stuck in 200 view jail, but I must improve them. Tik Tok does have programs and ways to monetize your passion. There are shops, going live and other ways to grow your audience. Sadly, there is some bad actors on this app as well.

Tik Tok has a zero tolerance on bad behavior and hateful comment. Some users are upset about getting false reported for no reason while going live. I am guessing that it’s not candy and rainbows in that app. Nevertheless, there will be another platform that will replace it. There is Lemon8 but its own by Bytedance which also owns Tik Tok. Clapper is an American based version of Tik Tok that might resurface next year. If Tik Tok doesn’t get ban that is.
Discord
Discord is a great place for gamers and a safe space as well. I know starting a Discord server can be easy but getting members is not. In Discord, you can set your own room and text channels. You server can be any topic you want fighting, mmorpgs and many more. Users can set their own rules and regulations in their servers. You can post photos, videos and threads from other social media platforms. There is a catch, users must pay to upload media over 100mb by switch to Nitro. Discord Nitro give users special perks like emotes and many more. Personally, I don’t want to pay for nitro because times get rough, and I am on a budget.

There is community place, where you join other servers as well. Discord is compatible with PlayStation by the way. I know this is better out of X and Tik Tok. I am still growing my server as we speak. Hopefully you all will enjoy my server. All is welcome and keep it family-friendly please.
Other social media
There is Instagram which I am middle of. Instagram is not bad at all but beware of the comments. It suffers the same problems as Twitter (X) because bot accounts. Be mindful of posting gaming content that it may not get attraction or not. I don’t have many opinions on this app. Facebook, I haven’t use it in years but think that’s another good place. Reddit is not bad but be careful posting videos on that sites because it will not get good reception. I know there is forums like Steam and many more out there. I am not sure about Snapchat because I haven’t use it whatsoever. You can research them on your own to suit your needs.

That’s all folks and let me know in the comments. What are other social media platforms for gamers that you enjoy? Thank you for reading this blog post and more will comr.
