Comic Books are Good
There is a reason that comic books are good to read, think about it for a second. Let’s take about myself, I don’t collect comics as much as other do on social media. I am on a strict budget due to inflation and working a full-time job. During my birthday in March 2025, I have received some comics like Miles Morales Spider-Man Trial by Spider, Doctor Strange: The Life of Doctor Strange along Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings. Trial by Spider is Miles Morales having to fit in a school and dealing with responsibilities as Spider Man. He fights off with villains such as The Scorpion, Bumbler and The Rabble. Miles team ups with Misty Knight to take down this new villain threating Brooklyn, New York.
Second comic, I have own is Shang-Chi learns the origin of the Ten Rings and partake in a battle royale style game to acquired them. Shang-Chi is on a mission to rescue Clive Reston and reunited with his former lover Leiko Wu. The Life of Doctor Strange is about helping other heroes and travel through Dream Dimension to confront Nightmare. There is a side story about Clea’s mother getting re-married and Dormammu makes an appearance. There are more Marvel and DC comics I have gotten over the year. Feel free to buy all three Marvel Comics based on Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Shang-Chi. There is some indie comics, I got such as Black Lion and Cubs: Valley of the King from Blerdcon 2024.

Black Lion and Cubs is about father along with his two sons Salahdin and Osari. As they search for missing Queen of Nubia. There is an animation show in the works and support the creator on his website along with social media. I got some limited-edition X-Men comics along with Weirdo by Tony Weaver Jr. If you want to read the review of the book, check out this article out. Why reading comic book are good for you? Have you even read a book in your life? Book can take you on a wild journey if its fictional or non-fiction. You can be inspired by author’s words and visual in the story. Sometimes, I don’t like film adaption of a book and understand they can’t adapt everything. Scott Pilgrim is a perfect example that because of changes but Edgar Wright did a good job.

Wicked 2024 was a beautiful film and can’t wait to sequel in 2025. I did a review on this movie already, but some movie adaptations based on book are not good. What about audiobooks? I have listened to Robert Kobayashi Rich Dad and got some insights on entrepreneurship. If you want a audiobook to listen about 9 to 5 vs self-employment, you can listen to it on YouTube or buy it. Sure, reading book would take you a day or months to complete due to shorter and larger chapters. I am not a book person but there are book club along with comics as well. You can join them, if there are on social media or local. Back to why comic book is good, these can be inspirational to create your own.
Manga are Books Too
I can see indie comic developers and creator making their own comic book or manga. Speaking on Manga, they’re book as well, you have to read them a certain way than normal novels. There are light novels, web-comics and fanfics from people like myself. I have read some manga online and paperbacks throughout the years. My mother took me to Barnes & Nobles to buy me books to read. I have picked up Bleach and Ikkitousen (Battle Vixen) manga, these were my first literature I brought. Fast forward to 2024-present, I started reading manga online like DanDanDan, Wind Breaker and Kajiu No 8. These manga are adapted to anime due to success of sales. There is an anime called Bakuman that explains the process.
Manga can be adapted to film, video games and stage play just like books across other countries. Books can be easy to read or very difficult depending on the story. I haven’t forgotten about visual novel games, which is very interactive for the reader to get engage into the story. Players can choose routes to get multiple endings based on choices. There is one example, Doki Doki Literature Club by Team Salvato, which I love and tackle books along with poetry. It may look light-hearted but have a dark secret about mental health. Anyways, going back to books being great, anybody can pick it up and read it. Some people are not too fond of them because they don’t have the time for them.
Closing
In 2025, I might start buying some books, manga and other literature on Amazon. There is a Arcana Heart manga that I always wanted to get since August 2007 PS2 game. I didn’t know it was on Amazon until today because I am very intrigued with story of the game. I realize that author who did the manga worked on Toradora and Golden Time. Both series is great series, and I would watch them especially Toradora because opening 2. Anywho, I am sorry I didn’t buy enough of them because budget and bills need to be paid. I almost forgot about Reading Rainbow tv show featuring Lavar Burton, which he explains about wonderful thing about books. I am not much a book person, but I can see why other enjoy them.
