Is Banning Anime Good

Banning anime will be a low blow for me because I highly enjoy it and become a huge part of my life. I have read an article about Texas Senate passes a bill to ban certain anime, video games and manga due to obscure depictation of minors. While I have two side of this argument for this case. American and Japan have different culture differences went it comes to sexualization female characters and other genres. Japan laws are very accepted with female character fanservice but USA or around the world it heavily not for it. There are crimes against minor and creepy individual that act like vultures that prey on the innocent. These savages need to face justice and pay for those crimes. When in comes to anime, it’s a fictional character and not real person.

Yes, some fans call them waifus and not knowing their age. There is so weirdo that chastise anime boy and girls. Some anime fans love the character and relate to them in my ways. Along with cosplaying as them and make AI fanart of them. There is a community out for these characters, if they were real, yes you will be labeled a creep. Fictional is completely different than a non-fictional character you see on live action tv. Back on the topic on banning anime, I understand why people for this because folks think it’s most disgusting display of animation. Anime is art and these people have to appreciate it for what it is. Certain manga like Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul and High School of the Dead was banned in China. Due to overly sexualizing content and violent tendencies in the manga.
Anime is Freedom of Expression
These countries have laws and have every right to ban or restrict certain that doesn’t relate to their core values. Fans sometimes get illegal copies of these manga and get jail time for it. That’s why Texas trying to pass this bill to restrict certain manga and anime. Anime is freedom of expression due to creators’ point of view. Being a mangaka is very tough and take a toll of your health. Take a look at Yoshihiro Togashi (Hunter X Hunter and Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) due to their health issues of overworking for a publisher. Even that’s case, Hunter X Hunter and One Piece are great series along with having community. I love anime with great stories than fanservice any day. Sometimes I watch ecchi shows for kick and giggles.

Along with finishing watching shonen genre anime, I can kick back and have a good time watching it. Otakus express themselves as well, we go to anime convention like Otakon, Anime Expo and many more. You will see cosplayers dressing as their favorite characters from banned anime. What about buying figures and other merchandise? Do we have the right to buy and support out favorite series? You are correct about that because, fans enjoy these series and don’t let anyone give us crap. This law also applies to video games, so you gotta tell me that Nikke: Goddess of Victory, Genshin Impact and Senran Kagura will get banned. We don’t know if this bill gets signed throughout the months to come.

Does this apply to western cartoon as well? Texas Senate would ban anything because no one is safe. Will everyone be happy about anime getting banned? Some are on board with it and other thinks it’s a foolish move to make. I remember CNN calling “Anime CP” in 10 years or so. I was bewildering at that news segment and can’t believe what I heard. First of all, there is different types of anime like ecchi, action, horror, comedy along with romance. There is a concept called “Parental Control” which parents can control what their children watches. Its your job as a parent to monitor your child and what they see on TV not congress.

Anyways that’s all I have to say about the situation, and I hope this bill doesn’t bill. If you are going to ban anime, then remove cartoon and any other forms of art. I am guessing congress doesn’t have nothing better do than to pick on anime fans. Again, I understand why people are for this and don’t see minor performance acts of deplorable situation that not suited for audience. What are your thoughts on this banning anime? Let me know what you think in the comment below and thank you for reading this blogpost.
