What is Gachiakuta
Gachiakuta is based on Japanese manga developed by Kei Urana. The plot is about main protagonist named Rudo who lives in city called “Sphere”, which wealthy and poor don’t coexist. Rudo lives with his adopted father Regto and goes to wealthy city to collect trash. One day, after spending time with his childhood friend Chiwa. Rudo finds his adopted father Regto murdered and sentence into the pit for his crimes. While in the dump, Rudo gets chased by a trash breast and saved by Enjin, who works as a “Cleaner” to defeat these creatures. Enjin recruits Rudo based on his Vital Instrument his clover which are apart of the Watchmen series. Rudo’s Vital Instrument can turn transmute trash into a weapon but there is one flaw. The junk has to be broken in order for Rudo to transmute it.
Gachiakuta is a revenge story and talk about how things that are thrown away can be appreciated. For example, Gris’s amulet went fighting against Raider named Jabber. Rudo appreciates his amulet which was broken and uses it to fight. As you might know, Rudo is a “Giver”, Givers are individuals that have unique powers through items called “Vital Instruments”. For example, some vital instruments can be used for healing like Eishia. One instrument can have clairvoyance like Semiu Grier, Zanka uses his Lovely Assistaff as offense. There are other cleaners that are givers as well throughout the series. Rudo has a target on his back because he is a Sphereite for raiders along with bandits.
Rudo’s Choices
In Gachiakuta, Rudo main objective is to get revenge on his adopted father’s death. Even told, Enjin in episode 1 that he will join Cleaners in order to get information to get to the sphere. Even Corvus didn’t like that lightly but due to saving one of the Cleaner’s supporters during a mission in episode 4. Rudo felt he didn’t fit in, but Cleaners gave him a warm welcome party. During his journey to the sphere, Rudo meets characters like Amo Empool and Zodyl Typhon who has same Watchmen series as him. Amo has boots and very unstable young girl who Rudo befriends later on. Typhon has a coat, but his giver abilities are mutation.
Zodly wanted Rudo to join him to take down the sphere which both have the same goal. Rudo sees things differently than Zody. He creates trash beasts to rule the world not other way around. In episode 14 “The Storm Before the Storm”, Cleaner faces off against The Raiders. Rudo and Zodyl answer each other questions about Watchmen series along with Sphere. As Zodyl departs to sphere, Rudo finds about the Watchmen series along with his surname Surebrec. In series, Rudo cares for his new friends like Gris and also gets into arguments with other characters. His choice is that he wants to get revenge but what does it cost. Although getting back to the Sphere is no easy quest, he will have to find a way to get back. Corvus might know or other characters may have information about how to get back.
Will Rudo Get Back to the Sphere?
Do you remember Amo drawing Regto’s killer in episode 13. Rudo recognize him and some person who killed Regto gave Amo Watchmen series boots. The culprit plant evidence to frame people like Amo and Rudo. End of episode 24, Amo is still alive and locked in a prison, while mysterious figure approaches. Viewers think Jabber killed Amo and gotten the boots for Zodyl. I think three major characters Rudo, Amo and Zodyl play a part in getting back to Sphere. There are probably more Watchmen series users out and about. I think these Watchmen Series is a gateway back to the Sphere. That’s just my overall theory and Rudo will use multiple vital instruments at the end of the manga.
Zodyl and Rudo will have one final battle along with getting revenge against masked man that killed his adopted father. Regto dying words told Rudo to change the world and I think he will. Hoping that wealthy and slum co-exist with each other along with appreciate things that discarded. While Gachikuta season 1 is finished and season 2 has been announced, probably will air on 2027. Manga is still ongoing and sooner or later, Rudo will get out of “The Pit”. Maybe, Rudo will stay in “The Pit” after getting revenge because he is people accepting him. In episode 1, Chiwa and Regto accepted Rudo but shunned by other because his parents.
Closing
In my opinion alone, Chiwa might move with someone else or change her views about Rudo. I am not creator of the manga but we will have to see what will happen.
