Grind Survivors
Grind Survivors is a top-down rogue-like shooter developed by Pushka Studios and published by Assemble Entertainment. The game is about fighting through endless demon hordes in apocalyptic earth. Players can find loots, uses abilities and level up to get perks in gameplay. They can also choose their playstyle “auto” or “manual” in beginning of the game. There are different characters and weapons like internal revolver along with more. In the main menu, after completing a mission, players can unlock upgrades and perks. Along with selecting different types of weapons like rare and common in the main hub. In gameplay, you can stand on summon circles to receive perks based on the color like green (movement) and blue (bullets). Grind Survivor puts players into action to survive on-going hordes. You can say this reminds me of Vampire Survivor in some way.
I found myself thinking about it’s a very acade-ish indie game. Don’t really play a lot of rouge-like games throughout my lifetime. Artstyle is very medieval-like, and soundtrack reminds me of Doom for some reason. The game loot system is similar to Borderlands as well. During my playthrough, I didn’t get to beat bosses but tried to find a way to clear out demon horde. I did get a shield perk that keeps me from death, after losing hearts. Although, I play some bullet-hell games but not like this one. Grind Survivors is available now on PC (Steam), PlayStation and Xbox. Just got code for PS5 version and got hands-on experience with the game. I don’t know about story of the game, but action keeps players at their toes.
Slime Rancher 2
Sime Rancher 2 is a farm simulation and sequel to 2017 video game with same name, that’s developed by Monomi Park. The plot is about Beatrix LeBeau, who travels through Rainbow Island to experience new technology and other inhabitants. Beatrix wants to explore new life on the island and find a purpose. In Slime Rancher 2, players can harvest fruit for slimes to eat. Farm animals like chickens and others, Beatrix uses a Vacpack to suck up slimes along others. Vacpack can be upgraded along with other gears by collecting plorts that slime split out went feeding them. There are different types of slimes like fairy, kitty and more. Beatrix can buy new equipment like fences for slimes and animals alike. Along with trees that can grow fruits and vegetables for slimes to feast on.
Beatrix has a health meter which rouge slimes can hurt her. Slime Rancher 2 has weather system which impacts slime as well. Players can gather resources to unlock part of the island and expand your conservatory on Rainbow Island. The game offers players get missions and expand their farm, watch out slimes intended to escape. Silme Rancher 2 is a colorful simulation game that very lighthearted. Those slimes remind me of Blue Dragon Quest ones I have seen in JRPGS. Monomi Park knows how to make the game more pleasant for cozy gamers. How are you planning on building a farm for slimes? Thoughts on Slime Rancher 2 and Grind Survivors
I would have to say that Slime Rancher 2 is a game that I get bored easily. Slime Rancher is an easy cozy farm simulator like Harvest Moon. Also, I have played Stardew Valley is gotten very bored because tedious start to the game. That is not easy to play whatsoever but Slime Rancher is not bad at all. The game is very on an off for me but in Tik Tok, I heard its chaotic at the end of the game. In farm simulation, grinding is very jarring and some players like me will lose interest in continuing playing. Grind Survivor on the other hand, is very tough went playing a mission in a time limit. I found myself having fun with both games as a whole. I heard that Slime Rancher will have a film adaptation in the near future.
Yes, sometimes Sime Rancher gets repetitive and feels like a household chore. Don’t sleep on the graphics and very vibrant aesthetics that game offers. As Grind Survivor, offers a challenge for newcomers to fight endless until death. If you love loot shooter and start a build for yourself in this game. Just do it and the game has replayability as well. Sometimes, players get frustrated by countless enemies coming after you. Both games offer something new to the table for new and existing players to experience. Slime Rancher 2 is free for PlayStation Plus Monthly March 2026 and glad to play this game. Grind Survivor will have you running for your life went enemies come from every corner of the screen.
