Lightspeed Lina, Gladio Mori and SlashZero – First Impressions
Lightspeed Lina – CornFlowerBlue
Lightspeed Lina is a 3d Plaformer indie game developed by CornfFlowerBlue. The plot is about a thief named Lina who looks form heart-shaped gems called “Comets” and tries to sell a profit. She is complained by pink alien named Dys and pain on stopping her Master Eris to take over the world. In Lightspeed Lina, the gameplay is very similar to Super Mario Odyssey and Sonic Adventure games. Lina can have multiple outfits and items for her adventure. During gameplay, Lina has a stamina meter to make her pick up speed.
Just like Sonic the Hedgehog, Lina can spin-dash, grind on walls and homing attack as well. She also has a punch attack to defeat enemies and cancel out of homing attack. Lightspeed Lina has puzzles, large bossses to fight and checkpoints (which you can wrap between parts of Emhemera Isles. Throughout the game, players can unlock outfits for Lina to wear. Also, special moves that she can preform during gameplay by getting vitals. Lina can talk to NPCs and go on side missions to get Comets along the way. There is ability upgrades for Lina as well throughout the game.
Lightspeed Lina has a metroidvania elements in the game and allows players to discover need things in each level. If you want a flashy high speed plaformer which you can slide down slopes. Make sure to support Kickstarter campaign and download playtest to try it out for yourself. Make sure to wishlist it on Steam.
Gladio Mori – Pllebieian Studio
Gladio Mori is a physics-driven gladiator fighting indie game developed by Plebeian Studio. The goal of the game is to dismember and defeat your opponent along with being last person standing. The gameplay is very similar to Bushido Blade, where players can customize movesets and cosmetics as well. There is different weapons like spear, sword, hatchet and more. Therefore, you have to strike emeemies limbs to immobilize and bleeding them out.
Gladio his offline and online multiiplayer with crossplay. There is also single player campaign for solo players. There are different maps to choose from like ship, colosseum and many more. While in multiplayer, players can set up public and private rooms to their liking. There is over 34 capons and 17 equipment to customize your character along with painting them. Gladio Mori is a bulti-in community gallery for PC users to showcase their character. The developer created the game to be mod-friendly, so create to your hearts content.
Gladio allows replay and save fights for studying or creating content like YouTube. Players can use camera functionalities to rewind on your favorite moments. Gladio Mori is available now on Stream, Xbox and PlayStation. Make sure to try out the demo first then buy the game.
SlashZero – Streetlamp Studio
Slashzero is a side-scrolling action rogue-like indie game developed by Streetlamps Studio and Skystone Games handing publishing. The plot is about a group of time-travelers called “Timehackers” who is tasked of saving timestream from Hieros-I. There are different main protagonists Fina and Nyx, who was playable in the demo but more will come in full verison. Nyx is close combat with throwing knives, while Fina uses gunkata for mid-range enemies. Players can choose their own path based on different runs.
Each path has bosses, items and blessings based on player’s choice. There is also, different aliments like wind, fire and water to choose from. Each playable character has special abilities and ultimate skill. You can choose different blessings to build your own playstyle. During your run, you can find upgrades chips to boost your skills in battle. Also, finding authorities as well, to face off against followers of Hieros-I. Players can interact with NPCs along with mysterious Sliver, who guides you through timestreams.
During gameplay, you can maneuver, air combos like Devil May Cry and many more. If you want a flashy cyberpunk style anime rogue-like game. SlashZero is right up your alley, the game will be available on Q1 2027 on PC and PlayStation. Make sure to wishlist it and play the demo.
Review
Lightspeed Lina was a average game for me because some levels were difficult for me. Although, it brought back memories of me playing old 3D Sonic and Mario. I had a issues with camera along with no 30fps due to my pc specs because it couldn’t run 60fps. I found myself dying a lot because I have a skill issue. Later on, I saw other content creator enjoying it and that’s fair. Even if its only a playtest, I will give it 7/10. Lightspeed Lina can use some improvements on level design and other issues that was presented.
SlashZero was a flashy time-traveling dark story. I found myself playing as Fina and was really enjoying going through different time periods. The game gives you options on what path to take and gaining more blessing as well. I also love in-game cutscenes that transition between gameplay which reminds me of Mihoyo’s Zenless Zone Zero. There is also permadeath and procedurally generated levels that allows you to get up in try again. Choose your own playstyle is very critical in this game but still enjoy it.
Gladio Mori demo, I had issues with movement and button responds. You have attack and defense button, which was very complicated and found myself frustrated at times. I can see this game in mystery tournaments because some people will have fun with it. Some people say play the full version of the game because it’s improvement from the demo. Customization moveset and characters is a great addition to this game. Gladio Mori is perfect for playing with friends or alone.
