To Your Eternity Summary
To Your Eternity is based on Japanese manga created by Yoshitoki Oima. The plot is about a immortal being named Fushi, who is created by Beholder. Fushi can transform into any being if there are deceased and while he adapts to the world. He learns about love, food and other things from the people Fushi meets. In season 1, Fushi meets March and Parona along with Pioran, who is set to be sacrificed to Oniguma.
Fushi defeats Oniguma, Hayase (who is one of the main antagonist series) was fascinated with the being. He also meets Gugu in Takunaha (who always wears a mask after accident saving Rean). Afterwards, parasite being called Nokkers comes along to kill Fushi. Next up, Fushi goes to island of Jananda to meet Tonari and help liberate it.
Tonari and Fushi face off against the Nokkers, resulting in death of her comrades. Fushi meets Prince Bonchien and helps him fight the Nokker as well. Fushi goes into a deep sleep after his past friends passed away. In modern era, Fushi meets Yuki and Mizuha (a descendant of Hayse), he revived all of friends to live a peaceful life.
Nokkers change their way to live a peace, and Beholder is reincarnated as Satoru, thus long his memories. Fushi finally at peace with his revived friends and series ends there. In To Your Eternity tackles acceptance and how Fushi live in a world based on suffering and pleasure. Fushi can transform into anything to make someone happy but cause conflict with others.
Fushi and Hayase
Hayse is Fushi main enemy of the first half of the series. Hayase is apart of a group called “Guardians”, and hindrance to Fushi and other characters. She kills March and Parona, while Fushi learning to talk other human behavior. Fushi does have animosity towards Hayase after everything she done to his friends.
Hayase wanted Fushi power and falls madly in love with him. Even, Mizuha is in love with Fushi, but he doesn’t feel any romance at all. Thus, Fushi doesn’t have a love interest in the series. Hayase has a lot of descendants from male to female that is obsessed with Fushi. In season two, To You Eternity, while Fushi fights Nokker Mizuha, he does transform into Kahaku.
It’s a possibility that Fushi can transform into Hisame and other Hayase’s descendants, if he wanted too. In my opinion, I didn’t like Hayase after what she did to March, harming a child is crossing the line. Mizuha does have some traits of Hayase and rejects any guy that confesses to her like Yuki. Fushi tries to reason with Mizuha and even go on a date with her. Sometimes, Fushi thinks that Hayase’s descendants were all evil but not Mizuha.
Mizuha does have family issues like her mother not letting her see grandfather. She is also part of the occult club with Yuki and Hanna. At first, I thought Hana and Mizuha would be a couple but that didn’t happen. Anyways, a lot of people hated Mizuha like Tonari and girls at school.
Final Thoughts
If things were different Hayase and Fushi would be a couple and possibly get married. I don’t know if Fushi can have children, but he would create some. First, Fushi must learn how to love before that happens. In the epilogue, adult Mizuha tells Fushi to close his eyes and she disappears not knowing what happened to her. Viewers and readers speculate that Mizuha kissed Fushi before storming off. Mizuha did say she had feelings for Fushi just like Hayase.
People think that Mizuha is bisexual because she kissed Hanna after finding out her real identity. Even if she was controlled by Nokker and killed her mother. Mizuha still keeps her insanity in check. She did want to die because of bringing so perfectly in many ways to please her mother.
That’s what Fushi says that Hayase descendants wanted death. Fushi can sense it and figure out what is the best course of action. Anywho, I have said enough out Hayase and Fushi. To Your Eternity is one of the best anime that I have watched. I am loving each message that characters spoke and resonate with me. Especially, making a decision that will change your life.
Personally, I don’t like other making decisions for me because I wouldn’t forget them. Let me decide on what is best for me, not your own interest. Some of your family members will not be onboard with your decision making, but that’s life in general.
