Worst Parents in Video Games
Throughout my years of watching anime, playing video games and watching movies. I have seen some best or worst parents’ multimedia. There are parents of main protagonists or minor characters that have to deal with toxicity in their family. There is some examples that will not be on this list of worst parents. There is Fire Lord Ozai from Avatar the Last Airbender who scarred Prince Zuko.
But best parent in my opinion is Kiryu Kazama from Yakuza series, who is a father figure to Hakura Sawamura. In movies, Jim Hawkins’s dad in 2002’s Treasure Planet who abandoned and Long John filled in the role of father figure to him. You get the picture already, anywho I will be listening the worst parents in video games, anime and movies in this post. I will get started with this parent I dislike.
Anabella Rosfield – Final Fantasy XVI
I have played the demo and have to say she is the worst mother in Final Fantasy series. He dislikes Clive and Jill, who also causes the attack on Rosaria. Later she was remarried to Sylvestre Lesage and has another son called Olivier. Anabella manipulates anyone to get what she wants, including Dion. Toward the end of the game, Anabella kill oneself and tries to reach out to Joshua because she still cares for him. She knew Elwin’s Clive father didn’t’ love her because of Clive. Anabella is one of the main antagonists of FF XVI and go down as a bad parent. Final Fantasy XVI is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.
Azami Nakiri – Food Wars: Shokugeki No Soma
Azami Nakiri is the father of Erina and brainwashes her having a certain attitude about cuisine. Soma tries to make Erina admit his cooking is great but too shameful to say it. Azami was banished from Tosuki due to an incident with his wife Mana having curse of the God’s Tongue. He is friends with Joichiro’s Soma dad and Erina’s crush as well. Toward manga and anime, Azami was the main antagonist and started an organization to achieve a gourmet utopia. He started council of ten masters including Rindo Kobayashi, Etsuya Eizan and Eishi Tsukasa. I would say he is the worst father because what Erina had to go through. Food Wars is available to watch on Crunchyroll and Dvd (probably).
Chucky and Tiffany – Seed of Chucky
We all know that Chucky is a bad parent and major antagonist of Child’s Play series. Tiffany is the worst mother as well. Both Chucky and Tiffany, Shitface uses Heart of Damballa to resurrect them and suddenly they have a children called “Glen and Glenda”. Tiffany and Chucky are both mass murderers. Although Chucky did have epiphany and accept his life as a doll and Tiffany betrays him. Both dolls can transfer their souls into humans and Glen hates them. I haven’t watched Chucky in years but remember watching Bride of Chucky movie with Jennifer Tilly. If you want to buy Child’s Play movies go for it or watch 2021 tv show aired on Syfy.
Manfred Von Karma – Ace Attorney
Manfred Von Karma is one of the main antagonists of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 2001 video game. He plays a huge role in fourth case and killed Miles Edgeworth’s father Gregory. Von Karma holds a perfect trail record and mentor Miles Edgeworth. He does have a daughter named Franziska Von Karma who appears in Phoenix Wright: Justice for All in 2002. Von Karma was forging evidence and uses a taser against Phoenix to be preventing on finding the truth. Manfred is a bad parent and cares little about Franziska but Edgeworth. Phoenix Wright Trilogy is available now on Nintendo Switch, Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and mobile devices (IOS and Android).
Maltazard – Arthur and the Minomoys
Maltazard is the main antagonist of Arthur and the Minomoys movie series. He also has a son named Prince Darkos, which later on he learns that Maltazard doesn’t care for him. Evil M wants to take over Necropolis and the real world as well. During the end of the first film, Maltazard leaves his son to drown in the flood and invades the real world in Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard. In Arthur 3: The War of the Two Worlds, Darkos change sides and Maltazard remains in jar at Arthur’s family house. Evil M doesn’t care about anybody but himself, which makes him bad dad in my book. Arthur and the Minomoys is available on DVD.
Charles and Marianne Vi Britannia – Code Geass
It’s been a while since I watch Code Geass and one of the best mech anime I have watched. Charles altered memories of Lelouch’s Nunnally and use V.V. code to become immortal. He wants to create an ideal world that would doom human rights. Marianne plans a assassination, she eventually covers up and uses C.C to give her ability to project people’s consciousness onto people’s minds. Which Marianne fake her death and transfer her mind to Anya Alsterim. Marianne assists Charles with project Ragnarok and Lelouch destroys them both. Both of these parents are terrible and exiled Lelouch and Nunnally because their plan. Code Geass is available now on DVD along with movies as well.

That’s all for the list and there are some mentions such as Heihachi from Tekken series. Shenmei from The Apothecary Diaries season two and Dark Vader from Star Wars. What do these parents have common? They do anything to get what they want, even destroying their kids’ lives. Every parent is different in some ways shape or form.
