What is Oshi No Ko Season 3

Oshi no Ko season 3 is the latest anime based on Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari drama-mystery supernatural manga. The plot revolves around two twin siblings Ruby and Aqua, who is recently reincarnated from their pervious lives. Aqua was an obstetrician-gynecologist Gorou Amaniya who was taking care of a patient named Sarina Tendoji (Ruby).

Sarina Tendoji had an illness and is a fan of popular idoi Ai Hoshino and promised to marry Gorou after turning 16. One day, Sarina passed away from this illness afterwards Gorou Amamiya after falling from a cliff. Presently, Gorou Amamiya goes by Aqua Hoshino along with Sarina as Ruby Hoshino. Now both of them are twins of AI Hoshino and suddenly, their mother was murdered by deranged fan.

Aqua and Ruby are now a part of the entertainment industry along with under the care of Ai’s managers. These managers are Miyako Saito (who is the manager of Strawberry Production) and Taishi Gotanda, who also worked with Ai. Ruby and Aqua is living lives as performers along with finding out the true culprit of Ai Hoshino’s death. Well, in season 3, Ruby undergoes changes from being a bright girl to passive liar.

Ruby Turns Cold

Ruby finds out about what is Aqua is planning to get revenge for Ai Hoshino’s killer. She seeks out Ichigo Saito (who is the husband of Miyako) for advice. During the taping of “Dig Deep: Chase the Impawisble” she gets close to one of the employees Shun Yoshizumi. In episodes 2 and 3, Ruby meets a cosplayer named Meiya, who felt disrespected during a Comiket photoshoot.

During Dig Deep, Ruby made Urushibara wear Tokyo Blade cosplay in front of the whole studio. Urushibara apologized to Meiya for inappropriate questions during Comiket, Meiya forgiven him and delete the tweet. Ruby continues to perform with her idoi group B-Komachi, also continuing her schooling. Her relationship with Aqua turns sour went he put a new story about AI’s death which angers Ichigo and Ruby in order to protect Kana.

Ruby didn’t acknowledge him as a brother anymore because of the scandal. She auctions for 15-Year Lie movie with Akana and Frill, Ruby won the private competition. Ruby felt she is living in her mother’s shadow for so long. Suddenly, Ruby meets up with Aqua because of their past lives.

Aqua and Ruby reconcile their relationship and willing to support each other than ever. Ruby develops a brother complex which Kana makes very jealous. Eventually, Ruby is cast as the lead role in 15-Year Lie. Season 3 gave Ruby a lot of character development and has a rocky relationship with her twin brother.

What Will Happen to Her

She is willing to help Aqua find the culprit by networking with those close to Ai. Even getting more gigs to make her become a star like her mother. Aqua fears that Ruby is living in Ai’s shadow and not living her own life. In episode 12, Ruby finds out the hard way not to become Ai but her own person. Even though Aqua’s methods are meant to protect her, Ruby sees it as slander.

In the ending, Ruby does a tribute concert to Aqua after his death. Ruby had happened to have Aqua and AI in her life. She is coping the loss of her twin brother having seen him sacrifice himself to prevent her murder. Hikaru Kamiki is the true culprit of Ai Hoshino’s murder and main antagonist of the series. A former B-Komachi member named Nino was about to murder Ruby but was saved by Saito couple along with Akane.

Hikaru was pulling the strings, and I know that Ruby wanted revenge as well, but Aqua wanted him. Now, after Aqua’s heroic sacrifice in order to save Ruby from getting murdered. Ruby is continuing to become a performer and becoming like AI Hoshino. What if a deranged fan wants to unalive Ruby?

Closing

Who is going to save Ruby if Aqua is gone? Well, Ruby has Akane, Miyako, Memcho along with Kana to help her. I bet Ruby, Akane and Kana was heartbroken about Aqua’s death in the ending of the manga. We might see season 4 and final season of Oshi No Ko anime, I can’t wait for it. Personally, I love this show because it takes pop idoi anime to a whole new level.

Mostly, pop idoi is very light-hearted and upbeat, but Oshi No Ko takes you for dark side of the entertainment industry. Just like Puella Magi Madoka Magica, that takes light-hearted tone of magical girl and turns into a dark fantasy. I am not too familiar with Akasaka’s work but heard of Kaguya-Sama Love is War series.

I don’t like Kaguya-sama but plot is all over the place. Hopefully, I might have a second opinion and watch it again one day.
