What are Some LGBTQ Characters
There are some Lgbtq characters in anime, tv shows, video games and many medias out there. It’s almost June and pride month to celebrate Lgbtq community. I wanted to say this before I begin this post. In the past, while I was in college, I made a mistake of distrusting my LGBTQ roommate and I felt really bad about it. Back in my college days, I was not myself and had to make a change to love everyone whatever sexuality that person is. I had to take steps on becoming a better person at the end of the day. After college, I did some self-reflecting and learn that Lgbtq community are human being, also wanted to life their life.
I will talk about more at the end of this post. There is some examples of LBGTQ characters like Final Fight’s Poison and Blitzo from Hellva Boss. Another character is Amity Blight from Owl House and several characters from Steven Universe. In this post, I will be listing them from popular to least in the fandom.
Korra – Avatar the Legend of Korra
Korra is the latest Avatar next to Aang, she did have a relationship with Mako but broke up with him. She also learns to control her power to defeat villains like Amon, Kuvira and Zaheer. At the end of Book Four, Asami and Korra go to the spirit world, hence on being romantic relationship with each other. Although, both Asami and Korra both bi-sexual, because they’ve dated Mako in the series. Their relationship continues in the comics from there. Avatar the Legend of Korra is available now to buy on DVD and watch online.
Harley Quinn – DC Comics
Harley Quinn is the most popular DC comic female character in history. She was originally created by Bruce Trimm (Batman the Animated Series) as The Joker’s sidekick, also love interest. After being mistreated by The Joker, in Harley Quinn (2019 tv series), she pursuits a romantic relationship with her best friend Poison Ivy. Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn relationship blossom throughout comics and tv shows. Harley Quinn tv show is available to watch on HBO Max but didn’t know about DVD.
Will Byers – Stranger Things
Will Byers is one of the main protagonists in Stranger Things and best friends with Mike Wheeler. Byers was stuck in Upside Down world and in season 5, developed powers to stop Vecna. During final season, Will came out and characters accepted it before confronting main antagonist of the show. He was a strong character, and, in the epilogue, Will is seeing someone at a bar. People had a problem with Will coming out on social media, but I didn’t have a problem with it. Watch Stranger Things series on Netflix and see Will in action.
Vi – League of Legends
Vi is the sister of Jinx and one of the main characters in Arcane League of Legends. She was orphan in the city of Piltover along with Jinx. In the mid-season of Arcane, she develops a relationship with Caitlyn. Vi joins up with Caitlyn to take down her sister Jinx. Afterwards, Caitlyn and Vi had a falling out after she didn’t capture Jinx. Later on, two patch things up and continue their relationship after Jinx’s sacrifice at the end of the series. Play League of Legends and 2XKO for free on console along with PC. Arcane League of Legends tv series is available to watch on Netflix.
Rose Lavillant – Miraculous Ladybug
Rose Lavillant is a supporting character and friends with main character Marinette Dupan-Chang. She also has an illness which in season 6 shows her wearing wigs. Rose enters a relationship with Juleka Couffaine. Rose was akumatized to Princess Fragrance and later become a hero Pigella. She has a very bright personality that everyone will love and cherish. I hope to see more of her in future season and make sure to watch Miraculous Tales: Ladybug and Cat Noir on online or purchase dvds.
Kuromaru Tokisaka – UQ Holder
Kuromaru is a member of the immortal hunters who is on a mission to slay Yukihime. Later on her battle with Tota, the two become friends then Kuromaru become romantic love with him. Kuromaru struggles with her gender and feeling for Tota because other girls to had pursuing him as well. Closing
While I was saying in beginning of the post. Some people don’t accept lgbtq but others will, what if you came out Infront of your parents. What will their reaction be? I would say let me live their lives at they see fit. There is homophobia around the world but don’t let it stop you. It’s your life, don’t be afraid to change your gender or come out into the world.
