Are you looking for video games controllers that works for PC to console. Look no further because I made a video about retro gaming haul and got some controllers for Christmas 2024. I haven’t use any of them yet but still have my PS4 controllers I rarely use for PC. For my PC users, you can configure the settings on your computer with Steam or third-party apps. In this article, I will be counting down top 5 video game controllers that works on PC and consoles. You might find something to your liking and maybe cheaper. Here we go and the first foremost.
5. Xbox Controller – Microsoft
Xbox controller can work on console and PC because it’s developed by Microsoft. Whether you are using original to Series X. These controllers can be compatible with any PC or Mac. You might have to get third party components that you can buy on Amazon and other storefronts. There is wireless option or wired whatever your preference may be. It’s a very good option and great for first-person shooter games. I don’t know about fighting games and many other video game genres. Xbox controllers normally cost $60 but you can get a discount. If you want to buy it, go to Amazon and many other options to purchase it. There are different variants like PDP Victrix Pro, MSI Force and Turtle Beach Sleath.
4. Arcade Sticks – Hori
If you love fighting games and arcade cabinets. You can bring the experience at home with Hori is what you are looking for. Hori comes with your favorite fighting games like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and many more. Hori fight sticks can be plug into PC and consoles. Just look at videos like EVO and many more tournaments. Myself, I can’t use fight sticks because I am a console main. Hori can be compatible to PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Xbox depending on what do you have. They cost around $50-200 bucks, but you can cheaper options on Amazon and many others. Check out what do you prefer and show off your skills.
3. 8bitdo SN3 Pro Bluetooth Gamepad
I got this one for Christmas last year and this is SNES controller that work on PC. It might work on consoles with a third-party component and original Super Nintendo Entertainment System hardware. There is a SNES Classic Mini, if you want to buy that instead original console because it very pricey. 8bitdo SN3 Pro Bluetooth Gamepad cost around $30 and I forgot to mention that it may work on Nintendo Switch. Xbox and PlayStation may not work with this controller. If you are a fan of SNES era and want a retro style controller. Go for it and here is another one for ya.
2. N64 Controllers -Any Brand
Man, I love the N64 era but there is controller out there for you guys. Nintendo 64 can work on Switch and PC only. There is no compatible for Xbox and PlayStation sorry to break it to you. This will be a short description of N64 controllers. There is a wireless or wired option for you guys to choose. Again, you will probably need a third-party component to use it. Probably not, but just in case if it happens. Any who, N64 controllers cost $17-50 dollars to purchase on Amazon, GameStop and many other retailers. You can find the cheapest option that right for you. If you’re a retro gamer, I would recommend picking this up.
1. PlayStation 1-4 Controllers – Sony
PlayStation controllers are very compatible with PC and console. Unfortunately, PS5 controllers doesn’t work on PC, but I might be wrong. You can use PS 1-4 controllers on PC and console though. They can be configured on Steam as well. I had to put this as number one because I didn’t have no issues with this controller. There is no way that it will work on Xbox whatsoever. Wireless and Wired option are available to choose. PlayStation controllers have different brands as well like AceGamer, Nacon and many others. You can get them on Amazon and many other places.
