What is the Most Educational Anime of All Time – Dr Stone

What is Dr Stone?

Dr Stone is a science fiction manga developed by Bochi and Riichiro Inagaki, the plot is about a green light that turns citizen out of the world called “Medusa Device”. Medusa Device petrified anyone in a point radius and only cure is revival fluid that protagonist Senkiu Ishigami can make (later on Suika learns it as well). Also, this was dubbed “Stone World”, after thousands of years after world is turn into stone. Main character Senku Ishigami is wakes up in a forest and intend to revive the world. Throughout the series, Senku revives characters like Gen Asagiri, Taiju and Yuzuirha Ogawa along with others. Later on, Senku meets others like Kohaku along with antagonists who turned heroes Hyoga Akatsuki, Dr. Xeno Houston Wingfield and Tsukasa Shishio.

Ibara is the only villain who hasn’t joined science team due to his nature. As series progresses, Senku and science team rebuilt civilization along with revival of others. What makes this series so special is educational and makes you want to love science. Dr. Stone manga started on March 6, 2017, and ended March 7, 2022. While anime tv aired on June 9, 2019, and finale was June 25, 2026. Personally, I am not a manga reader but really enjoy the anime start to finish. The series demographic for teenagers to adults, its not for children due to gore and more.

Senku is journey has gotten him praise from other members of this team. He is an equivalent of Albert Einstein and smartest anime protagonist of all time. Science teams come up with how to make a computer, beer and vehicles as series progress. Even villains wanted to see what Senku and science team could do. Dr. Stone is not just about making and creating solutions to problems. There is shonen and survival aspect in the series, I have recently played Grounded and it reminds me of Dr Stone. Later, I will do a review of that game later. Anyways Dr. Stone has different story arcs like “Stone World” to “Future Engine”, how can I forget spinoff Dr. Stone Reboot: Byakuya.

Why Dr Stone is Educational?

Dr Stone explains science in a fun and educational way. There is even a segment of Robo Senku explaining what components and how things are created. Senku is no Bill Nye the Science Guy for sure but it way better than show. Even sometimes, I have trouble figuring out how they make a rocket (which they do in finale went confronting Why-Man). Along with making rubble, radio and many more because it’s very fast paced. There are characters that serve a purpose for science team like Ryusui mathematician brother Minami Namami, who does numbers. Moz is one of the science team fighters and Francois who Ryusui’s bulter that handles food for science team.

After each discovery, Senku’s science team is always one step closer to restoring civilization along with building a kingdom as well. Note: I am not a science major nor expert on this subject. Let me know in the comments about some facts about science. There is some comedy in this series that breaks away from creating science as well. My favorite character is Ryusui Namami because being a foil to Senku due to their differences. Ryusui always does his two-finger snap went a great idea comes around and being a nuisance to his younger brother. In last season of Dr. Stone, two brothers play chess together, which was heartwarming scene.

Seeing of that, I like how Ryusei takes to from Japan to USA along with South America to recruit other members for Senku’s science team. Senku journey has come to a end went confronting Why-Men and finding out origins of Medusa device. Especially, went Ryusei save Senku’s space team from being stranded, which was a goated move. Therefore, he is valuable member of Senku’s team. Also, who was the star of the series is Suika, who made revival fluid to save Senku and others, after Xeno’s group attacks them. There was a time-skip but Senku’s group didn’t age but Suika did. Senku knows how to bring people together due to his goal of saving the world.

Closing

Sadly, the series has ended and there is no other educational anime quite like Dr. Stone. If you’re a science lover, I would highly recommend watching and reading the series. How can I forget the anime opening “Good Morning” which is iconic itself. I can see a Dr. Stone challenge on social media sites like Tik Tok or Instagram. YouTube might have some science videos that I probably will check out later. Couple of things, I love Dragon Quest references went Senku’s team craft items. There is a scene went Minami (Ryusei’s brother) wanted to be a game developer like just me. Personally, I lose interested in creating games because I am bad at math, sorry.
